My wife has grown very accepting over the last few years, and we regularly have coffee together in the mornings while I'm dressed (no make up or wig though) and if I don't get a chance for a while (like people visiting and whatnot) she'll even mention it after they leave that "you must be stressed, since you didn't get to wear anything soft/nice for a week!). Anyway point is, we're in a pretty good place with all of this.

So... in early October we're going to Vegas, just the two of us to have a little fun going to a show, hit the tables, some other touristy stuff. Just something to let off a little steam and enjoy life. So this morning I told her, "you know, there's something else I've always wanted to do in Vegas... and you DON'T have to answer now, but would you be open to a "girl's night"?" She blurted out "sure!" (I could see her smile, and I think she genuinely knew how much I wanted this and that she wanted to do it for me.) So I said, "ok, well wait... I'm talking full makeup and wig, and hiring a make-up artist and everything to make me look nice, etc., so I want you to really think about it." She said "ok sure, yeah no problem."

Anyway, I'm stoked for when we can finish the conversation, and I am hopeful that her initial reaction holds.

Other than just wanting to share this, I'm dying to hear suggestions on what to do on a girl's night out in Vegas :)

Diva Las Vegas is the following week, FWIW.

What to do? Go to dinner, go to a show, go shopping, do whatever. It won't be an issue.

I didn't realize those are separate events. Is it the same group? I thought diva las vegas was may and this time of year it was called rocktober. I'm not disagreeing with you.I just didn't realize.

My wife and I are going to Vegas to see Rod Stewart on 10/4. I'm hoping to get to wander around in skirt with her like last time. While she's ok with my dressing, I don't think she would go for the "girls day". Hopefully yours agrees and you have a great trip.

Vegas is an amazing place. There are several makeover studios. When I had my makeover with Amy (Just Me) it was wonderful but a little too theatrical.
If you stay at a major resort, they might have a spa technician who can do makeup for both of you.
Lately, Vegas has been very pricey and has issues with bums and huskers. There's certainly plenty to do for a GNO there. We found it fascinating to just get a table outside on the strip and just people watch.

Gen, DLV has decided to move off the Strip this year. And, to dove tail with Rocktober at the same hotel!

WildSide was and will be again in Vegas, May, 2026!

I don't know if the organizers are the same.

I just know DLV is 10/13 to 10/16 because I am attending (my second time at Dee-LV.

It's great to hear that your wife is so supportive. If you get an opportunity, go to Frankie's Tiki Room. It's a real experience plus it is a great place to go full 1950's pin up girl with your look.

One is enough, for multiple reasons. I'm doing DLV again.

1. I have a reaonably tolerant wife, but two weeks would be pushing it.
2. I can take Las Vegas in small doses, but after a week (5 days) I would get stir crazy.

But most signficantly:

3. I already stuff two suitcases full of stuff for 5 days. I would need a couple of steamer trunks for two weeks.:)

For the last few years, DLV has been bouncing around from the end of Sept to the end of Oct. This year it was decided to do DLV right after Rocktober so attendees could actually attend (some or all of) both rather than choose one or the other (based on feedback from attendees having to pick one of the two). Pricing concerns at the usual strip hotels facilitated the move to Tuscany this year for DLV.

TGR and DLV are separate events run by separate organizers and have different goals and activities. There is no coordination between the two events. But many attendees do want to try both and this year they can do both in one trip to Vegas! A week of Thur-Thur would get you the majority of each event.

Personally, I've only attended DLV (I am a coordinator/volunteer), but I do want to try TGR someday. This arrangement makes that more possible for me (although not this year). I would totally do the Thur-Thur option.

Vegas is fun no matter how you dress.

Crossdressing is no issue there. I've
done it several times. In the casino
you are very safe. Lots of security there.
On the street it's safe as anywhere else.

My wife and I were there last October.
l dressed every morning. I took some tops, shorts
and a maxi dress.

y'all have fun!

We stay off strip. It's less expensive The Orleans
last year

I didn't even realize DLV was going till I got there.
I didnt register so I did go to the strip.

Thanks for all the great ideas and support ladies! Followed up on this with my wife today, and she said "oh yeah, I'm totally ok with it... I mean not every night, though!" I reassured her this was a one night deal... I can't do hair and makeup on my own very well, and I'm sure one night will be all my nerves can handle :)

Thanks again for the replies - my biggest concern now is WHAT TO WEAR!? I think I have a few days to myself here at the end of the month so I should have time to go through my closet I’ve got my hair and makeup services all lined up for the big night and I just spent a kings ransom on some new wigs lol…

As others have stated, in general, how you dress is not an issue there. What you have to consider is that in any vacation spot, a lot of people are not from the area. They could be from places you might not normally visit. Those people's attitude towards us don't change just because they're visiting a place that is okay with us.

I don't expect, you will have a problem. anywhere you choose to go will probably be more than accepting. casually waking down the street might get you a bit of extra attention from the people that are also visiting the area. Anyone with a a little confidence, we'll get right past this. Those without confidence, could easily take it the wrong way. Just a little extra info for consideration.

Genifer - yeah we’ll probably be in the casino the whole night - dinner at a restaurant and then the tables and such - I’m not up for a stroll on the strip where casino security isn’t available :)

I am so happy for you Kelly! Sounds like you are getting some of the planning out of the way which should help with the nerves when the time comes to leave the hotel room. I cannot wait to hear how it all goes and keep us up to date on the planning. For those of us who are not in the same situation, we love to hear about other girls doing bucket list items!

Thanks Mercedes! Here’s the best part (of the planning phase) that I haven’t shared yet: I’m going to have FIVE FULL DAYS HOME ALONE starting Wednesday next week to go through my closet, try on outfits, try out wigs and makeup and shoes etc :)
