Well two weeks ago I crushed a finger on my left hand, thankfully I'm right handed. I haven't been able to put a bra or other items on for a few days , i wear one almost every day. I got it caught in between two sections of garage roll up door. Safe to say i did a number on it. No nail left broken bone, several stitches to put it back together. I am sporting a new metal nail though to cover the damage and keep it flat, stiched on. I finly was able to get a bra on today without bumping the finger, a win in my books. I go in to see a plastic surgeon tomorrow for a fallow up. I hope for no permanent damage although i have no feeling in the tip yet. I've always been told if you are going to do something do it well.

Amanda,
At least it was just one finger! Hopefully it will heal quickly with full function

Ouch! So sorry to hear that it is interesting that as a male smashing a finger causes problems with hooking your bra kinda made me giggle.

Yikes! That sounds awful 😬
Hopefully the plastic surgeon has nothing but good news for you on your recovery!
I lopped off the tip of a finger as a kid and doctors weren?t sure if the nail would grow back. Surgeons did a pretty amazing job with reconstruction and but it has never quite looked or felt the same as the rest on that hand.
Ps: I comically struggle with the darn bra clasp using both hands. Finally learned why my wife would always ask for help with hers - lol

Ouch, I nearly lost the tip of my left ring finger some years back.
Clipped it with electric hedge trimmer (was foolishly not wearing any gloves).
fortunately, the cut was vertical instead of horizontal across the finger - it split the nail and the tip of the bone in the finger.
Just needed stitches to close.
The nail healed fine as it grew out and I now have a slightly misshapen ring finger with some residual numbness in the tip wear the scar is.
Hopefully your finger heals fine.

My pet iguana bit my fingertip off when I was 15. They sewed it back on. I got the feeling back in about a year, Amanda. Full feeling in about 3 years.:)
