Hope I'm not making too many annoying newbie posts... :o

One of the things I've noticed since crossdressing has come into my life is I have developed a deep (borderline obsessive) fascination with the female form. It's not like I haven't always been respectfully appreciative but this seems more intense. Many of my social media follows are like Art of the American Pinup, SI Swimsuit, Black and White photography, etc. which are easy to pass off as "the dirty old man is looking at the young girls again" and laugh with the family but that's not it at all. I find these images to be like going to an art museum -- the curves, lighting and shadow, fall of the cloth, stroke of the brush -- perfection embodied. It's like these photographs deeply resonate somewhere in my brain but not in a I want to "be with" these women way; I want to just "be" them. I have never been into porn and have no interest in explicit erotica. The visual "art of the woman", either live, in pictures, or in body, I find to be extremely pleasurable.

When I'm all dressed up I certainly have no chance to match these lofty standards but to see a hint of that beauty manifested in a bit of a curved silhouette, stretch of the legs in heels, a cascade of hair over the shoulder... Well darn, now I'm really looking forward to next time :battingeyelashes:

Anybody relate to this?

Also seem to be following a lot more fashion magazines and who's dressed what way articles which is something I had zero interest in for most of my life :heehee:

Gail, I always flip through my wife's Vanity Fair.

Of course. I try to achieve the universal cues of feminine form, particularly the hip to shoulder ratio

There's always padded inserts & clothing, corsets and girdles etc. Some of it really helps, some of it just looks ridiculous. I've lately tried to get my look more curvy so my clothes look better.

I?m with Kim. Can?t do much about broader shoulders, bigger feet, etc. I, too use hip and butt pads with waist cinched to enjoy some curves. Nice.

When I began so very long ago I certainly did the same thing.
My sources were quite varied. The Sears catalog of course as everyone had one. Then came Playboy and my fascination with lingerie, wishing I had a figure like these women and the ability to wear such lovely things.
Those are gone now but so many others are available and yes I still enjoy them and admiring the models figures and how the clothing defines and flatters them.

Dr. Frankenfurter in Rocky Horror said, "Don't dream it, be it!"

And so, I've been working hard on Sherry's fem figure ever since I started dressing 30+ years ago.:daydreaming:

As a slim man I've found I can immitate nearly every fem figure under the sun. From slim, sexy to over exaggerated full figures! (See avatar).:tongueout

It amazes me to see how many dressers go out with little or no shaping wear or hip/butt pads.
Of course they ALL must have forms or implants!:o

Are you talking unrealistic female form such as corseted wasp waists and unbelievably longs limbs or necks or the female forms that can actually be seen in real life? If its the second I am with you, and the two of us could very possibly be crossdressers which would explain our attraction to it.

I can indeed relate to this Gail. I love the female form too and like you when I see a lovely shaped lady I'm not thinking about wanting to be with them either, I'm wishing I could have a body the same.

Gail, I know exactly what you mean. My end game career venue was in the resort industry where luck goes to die and I saw the most amazing female presentations as they were on the big vacation they'd been looking forward to back in their home town.
I was constantly scrutinizing the fabulous make up, wondering how much silicone was too much and pondering how they kept the sausage skin dresses from revealing too much.

I can relate!

Recently, I was at a multi-day event. There was a woman in attendance whom I didn't know, and didn't me. I did see her both days. On the first day, she was wearing a fairly simple outfit; a white blouse with a blue and white below knee skirt paired with white flats. I wish I had a picture. She was stunning. So classic, so simple yet refined, so casual yet so elegant. I was transfixed, not by her beauty per se but by her style. I soaked it all in, imagining wearing something similar. The next day, she was wearing a flowery blouse on black background with jeans and flats. Had I only seen her on that day, I would have barely noticed her. Sometimes certain styles will resonate, and we so desire to want to look the same way.

This is interesting. I think the female body is amazing. Of course I look nothing like that when dressed. It would be fun to have that body for a day of dressing as long as I could turn it in at the end of the day.
