View Full Version : My "Him vs Her"

A few recent threads got me thinking about my self-image in both masculine and feminine expression. I had to laugh over my "him" vs "her" inner monologue:

Weight

Him: 10 pounds? Who cares about only gaining 10 lbs? and that dessert looks really good tonight...
Her: Uggh, this dress is feeling a bit too snug again? Ok, I'll just fast for a few days and fix that.

Facial hair

Him: Just don't feel like shaving this morning - no big deal, I'll probably get around to it next week.
Her: This afternoon stubble is so annoying - maybe I should shave twice today?

Skin

Him: When did that bruise happen? Oh well, it will heal up in a few days?
Her: Wonder which shade of concealer will best hide that age spot?

Nails

Him: Need to clip these nails short so they don't snag them on something again.
Her: Hmmm, should I go with the almond or coffin shaped tips today?

Hair

Him: Getting a bit shaggy on top but nothing a baseball cap won't fix for awhile?
Her: Wonder whether the wavy long blond or the straight mid-length ombre wig would go better with this neckline?

Shoes

Him: These tennis shoes still have some tread left, they'll last for a few more months before I need another pair.
Her: Should I get those strap stilettos in both black and silver? How about the white block heels to walk around in? Might as well buy all three...

Clothes

Him: Yeah, this old shirt has a couple of holes but they're hardly noticeable - wonder if I should throw it away? Naw, it's just fine...
Her: Well this blouse doesn't at all pair with that skirt like I'd hoped - I better switch to another outfit and start shopping for what will go with the original two.

Do I suffer from a stereotypical view on societal expectations towards women or am I just a lazy guy? :idontknow: Sigh... probably both

All those things describe me pretty well.
I have one pair of guy sneakers that probably should be replaced
but I am getting new Espadrilles daily. :heehee:
7 new Blouses just last week. So pretty and fun shopping
Can't remember the last time I bought anything for the guy side.

That hit home, especially the shoes part, because I was buying a pair of white sandals with closed pointy toe and an ankle strap and I couldn't decide if the stiletto or the block high heel. Today I received both.

This may break the stereotypical mold, however I wish my wife would buy more clothes. She hates shopping for them and she really needs to enhance her wardrobe a bit.

I have no him vs her. I am just a feminine male.

Heheh love that I feel so seen! I too have separate monologues with both my male self and my female self! A little different where as a guy I?m more conscious of how my clothes fit since I haven?t been working out. When I am Olivia, I embrace all my curves, I think having a nice breatform helps with that confidence, but I prefer tighter clothes when I am a girl. Weird, but really feel like I am two spirits or whatever you believe in the same being!
