Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I have now begun my 3rd start at HRT. The first ended after my wife's strong opposition. The second ended due to political reasons that cannot be discussed on this forum. I now have begun my 3rd attempt following my realization that I must move forward with my transition regardless of the opposition. Fortunately, it's being covered at no out of pocket cost by my private insurance. My wife knows I have restarted and has basically now entered a don't ask don't tell approach. I have a consultation appointment for gender affirming bottom surgery scheduled next month. WPATH 7 will still require more time on HRT but I wish to get onboard with the clinic to get things started. I also need the 2 letters of support.

Jessica.
This is a difficult path you are starting and there are people here who will offer you support and answer questions if you choose to ask .
The DADT will likely become very difficult if your wife is not onboard.
I will ask out of concern for you.
Have you fully thought about what you have to lose?

Jessica.
Have you fully thought about what you have to lose?
Yes, and don't wish to end my days wishing that I had moved forward.
We have now entered a phase where she appears to be tolerating my decision, just not enthusiastically. She hates change as much as anyone but seems to be adjusting...

Hi Jessica.
Please forgive my ignorance as different countries have different rules.
Before I could see an endocrinologist for HRT I had to see a psychologist to get an affirming letter to the effect that I was gender dysphoric.
What I am angling for here is I would have thought you would be seeing a councillor which would be one avenue for a letter confirming your dysphoria.
It must be extremely distressing for you wife and you that you cannot come to a better arrangement than
tolerance and adjustment.
In my view your situation may not improve should you take that final step and have bottom surgery.
Are you really prepared to lose friends and relatives ? In fact; life as you know it now.
It has taken me just over three years to rebuild my life and I imagine I had less to loose than you.
I don't know how many TS people there are here on the forum but it would be interesting to hear their take on your situation. How their wives handled the change.
Take care.
