Last week, I went to the beach.
The sun caressed my skin, the wind played with my hair, and I felt complete in my white swimsuit, lightly made up, like someone celebrating small joys.
I ordered a shrimp dish from a beachfront food truck. That's when he appeared: a young man with a wide smile, gentle eyes, and a body that exuded energy. He brought the food, and in that instant, I believed there was something more in his eyes?a silent invitation, perhaps a flirtation.
Later, I also ordered a coconut water. I waited for him, but it was the food truck owner who came to me, dismissing the young man with a quick gesture. Her face lacked the same delicacy; there was a shadow of jealousy, or perhaps just distrust.
I felt the enchantment of the moment slip away, like sand slipping through my fingers.
I stood there, silent, keeping the memory of that broken gaze to myself.
And I wonder: have you ever experienced something like this, when a sweet and unexpected connection dissolves before it even begins?

You are quite a poet.

And no, I didn't experienced something like this. I always somehow connect with the people and it's fun.

I write from time to time but I'm not a poet.
