I read this opinion on social media and found it interesting. Which type do you fall into?

3 reasons a man dresses as a woman.

Gender dysphoria You feel like you were born in the wrong body and need an emotional space you feel comfortable and safe. Dressing can help, fully transitioning could be a path to be free of anxieties or trauma. Of course counseling would always be advised regardless.

Gender euphoria You feel like dressing allows a release from the grind and pressure of the masculine form. Relaxation, calmness, happiness, even spiritual experiences that can only be felt when dressed or expressing the femine form. But returning to masculine form doesnt create relentless trauma or anxiety.

Sexual kink (kink isn't bad, its just less accepted by society) You feel stimulated sensually by the sensation or fabrics, styles, shoes, makeup, hair, or whatever femine thing you are drawn to, and you feel inclined to indulge in a behavior that is satisfying and exciting.

totally a mixing of both the second and the third reason; crossdressing is so relaxing and calming for me but, at the same time it gives me euphoria and when I have even more sexual appetite with even the desire of being the female in the bed

I believe I'm leaning also towards Ivan's answer of a little of the second and a lot of the third reasons. I also enjoy just being relaxed being dressed and reading and watching TV but also have that appetite of the feeling of the smooth silky fabrics that seem more of a sexual thing.

None of the first reason, some of the second reason and mostly the third reason. Although as I get older, there is even less of that than there once was.

I would say I fall in a mix of number 1 & 2.

Me too somewhat mix of one and two. Not the dysphoria, I don't feel like I was meant to be a woman, but I don't necessarily have a desire to be manly. I'm okay with it. I struggle with people saying they have to act a certain way or live up to certain expectations and be a man. I've never felt that. I understood I was a man and that was okay. It just was what it was, it wasn't a thing I had to be or do or act, or whatever.

When I started presenting as a woman.I just felt more comfortable. It was a thing I could do.It was unique, it got me attention. I enjoyed the challenges of it and the acceptance. The calming relaxing, or whatever things never really were a part of it. I just felt this is the way I'd rather be.

Two and three with maybe a little bit of number one, maybe.

Like Genifer I'm comfortable, it's always been I feel like myself. I have never felt comfortable in male clothes.

In the early years #2, then an occasional #2 & #3. Since retirement, totally #2. Never #1. Wife never understood how hose, underwires, shapers, heels can be comfortable. I just smile.

For me, it's 3 with a bit of 2 mixed in.

I love to shop for clothes. I'm 5ft2in 104lbs. The men's stores got nothing.
I just bought a pair of size 2P pink pants from Eddie Bauer for just $19! A Golftini XS skort for just $12! Lots of bargains when you are my size.

I get more respect if I dress well. I have a nicely proportioned hourglass figure that makes it easy to find women's clothes that fit perfectly.
Impossible to do with boys' clothes. It is easy to see that I'm wearing nice clothes.

When I was younger, it was definitely #3
Now I fit more into #2

I started as a 3, but since then, I'm a 3 to 2. There was a time about 12 years ago or so, that I fit into the 1 category. Interesting how life changes feelings, attitudes, and emotions toward your sphere of interests.

I'd give myself about 80% dysphoria and the other 20% euphoria. I've been stealing things to wear and fantasizing about being like my sisters for just over sixty years. If I could be sixteen again today, I'd be a girl so fast... :)

Gender euphoria absolutely describes me perfectly, I couldn't have written it better myself, I can't see me in any of 1 or 3, although as a teenager, I wanted it to be 3 to make me feel better for being different, but it never was

Tammi, I align with 2 and 3 but need to add a possibility, reincarnation. I know it sounds silly but there are times when I feel like a different person, minor habits arise and a different personality send to be present. This is only my guess as to the mechanism but we only have 5 senses, preventing us from being aware of any issue or condition that we can't directly sense which doesn't mean they're not there, we just can't sense them!

I find myself in 2 and 3, but perhaps something else too. I like that when dressed or partial dressed, I like that I am different than most everybody else. Like if I?m drab and wearing a purse, Im not like those other drab guys, but still not a woman. I can grab what I want and not follow the norms. Not really a sexual kink.

Seems to make me think I am not just following the crowd. I can do what I like!

Something along those lines anyways.

Definitely number 3 for me, I find it so exciting and exhilarating and being out dressed in public gives me such a buzz its just indescribable no words can explain it.

Gender euphoria, that's my new favourite term!
