Yesterday, I wore a men's Halloween costume to work. I am hoping to do that every day this week. I found myself wanting to go out to lunch and to stop by the store on my way home from work. I wanted to be seen. It is a good costume... I realized that this is pretty much exactly how I am when I am crossdressed. I want to go places and be around people. It is not like I want to go "Ta-Daa!!!" and show myself to people. But there seems to be a similarity.
:)
Are any of you that way?

Joey, I understand completely. I am a rather shy person, but still love to dress up and be seen.

Yup. After the, "I think I'm going to get dressed." there's always that desire to go out and just be out and about.

Haha,
You made me laugh. If I get to go out again, I might have to do the Ta da thing.
I was at a club in Florida one time joking with a young woman about how I should make an entrance. She showed me how I should come down a stairway and while doing a hair toss to flip my leg backwards when making an entrance. Your post reminded me of that truly funny interaction I had, so thanks for that ; )

No, not since I was 5 have I enjoyed dressing up as a male character, Joey. Back then I loved the cowboy outfit my mom made for me. Complete with a holster for cap guns!:heehee:
My daughter had a Halloween party a week ago. She knows about my dressing but my granddaughters and their friends don't! So I dresseed as a Medievil Knght. Guess how many photos I took? Zero! I get no thrill from my male self dressing up. But, if I was dressed as Sherry I would have taken at least a dozen!:tongueout

I've never been a big fan of dressing up as a male for Halloween. The only times I did dress up on Halloween I dressed as a woman in knee length dresses, heels and hosiery, all the proper undergarments, wig and makeup. Maybe, there should be a "Crossdressers Wish Foundation." My wish: Going out with an accepting wife doing a switch of roles.

We did the Halloween thing as kids, and enjoyed the same when our own children were young. I have not dressed up for Halloween (male or female) in my entire adult life. But then, I am pretty boring.

Joey, that makes perfect sense to me! I haven't costumed for Halloween in years, but when I did the fun wasn't the costume as much as people seeing me in the costume.
As far as doing the same in feminine clothes, I'm taking such baby steps I'll likely never get there, but little things like leggings or women's t-shirts are happening more, and I don't even notice my own toe ring any more
that just brings the question to mind of what a 'men's Halloween costume' would look like. I'm imagining a construction worker or cowboy. I totally get the 'wanting to be seen' thing. I got out to drive through for breakfast yesterday in totally femme presenting male mode. Definitely vulnerable, but worth it.

I don't think there's any suggestion of enjoying a male costume. The comparison is enjoying the attention in a similar way.

I did enjoy the costume. I was a male comic book character that is normally recognized. It is fun.
I like to talk to strangers. In fact, I prefer strangers to talking to people I only sort-of know. Holiday work get-togethers are SOOO awkward, to me. But, I could work at the front desk of a hotel and love it, I think. I am not as talented, but I might be a lot like the guy from the Holderness Family, a youtube sensation. https://theholdernessfamily.com
I occasionally have a fleeting thought about wearing something pretty at work for Halloween. Since I dress in public with some freedom and frequency, I do not feel as attracted to it. I have worn tights with a super hero costume at work before.

Yes, I’m that way too. I want everyone to see me. I’ve gotten so I wear nail polish 24/7, and lipstick almost as much. I wear breast forms virtually all the time, and when I go out, I want everyone to stare at my chest. When I was young, I was terrified that someone would discover my secret. Today, nothing is secret. I’m totally proud to be transgender. I don’t care if I get clocked.

The feeling to be seen is something I can totally relate to.
