Yesterday I had a conversation with a very bubbly and energetic young coworker about her Halloween weekend. As she shared the fun she had she also shared her struggle. Finding boots in a woman?s size 12-13? She asked repeatedly if I understood how hard it was?I could only feign my confusion and finally suggested there had to be sources that were non-traditional to find shoes and boots. That?s when she blurted out that she had also been searching for her boots on transgender, crossdressing and drag friendly websites. Because as she explained it? shoe size doesn?t change just because you dress or identify differently.

LOL, it could have just slipped out. I share her struggles. I can usually find 13s, but it takes some searching.

Are her feet really that big - or is she dropping some heavy hints?

Hmmm.
Maybe a possible ally in the making?

Jenni, I know the struggle finding a size 13 shoe.

Hi Jenni,
I agree with SaraLin, she might be dropping some subtle ( or not so subtle! ) hints.

I'd glance down to her feet to see if her feet were that big. It's possible, but I think it would be a rarity for a woman to have that foot size if she is petite. If her feet are not big, I'd retort whether she had a boyfriend looking for large women's sizes. My personal "haunts" for Halloween was Payless.

Unless your bubbly coworker's over 6' tall this makes no sense!

Exactly. She would have to be a larger sized woman to have larger feet.

I wear a women's 12w boots and have no problem finding and buying that size on Ebay mostly,
I just bought a pair of fringed cowgirl boots for 28.00.

What about what many of us wear, LisaMarie? Where can we get dress boots and hi heels in 11 plus sizes?:daydreaming:

Well since you asked. Temu, Shein, Lane Bryants, Poshmark, Torrid, DSW.
I've even found a few pairs at Thrift stores. I paid 3.00 for a pair of Frye boots at Salvation Army store.
They are out there, the internet can be your friend if you let it.

All of mine came from thrift stores, mostly the poundage outlets, but a few pair from the "full price" thrift stores. I don't find 11s very often, but when I do, I snap them up.
A friend wears 13s or 14s; those are even rarer. I think that the last ones I found for her were Torrid brand, new with tags; they must have donated some out-of-season stock.

She is in fact 5-11 and had a delivery from multiple sources to her home to find just the right pair. Ally possibly.

Unusual, perhaps but not so much. There is a company here in the UK. Long Tall Sally has been selling up to size 11(UK size), for a good many years now,

Fortunately I’m a size 11, which is the maximum size I’ve seen in stores. My heart goes out to you girls who wear size 12+.

This is my hardest clothing issue - 14 in men?s so 16 women?s! It?s even difficult to find my men?s size.
Interesting that she would ask you ?repeatedly? if you understood her struggle!

Payless is still alive on the internet. I just "Googled" Payless and its web page comes up, indicting it sells through Amazon. I did follow the link and tested size 13 which I did find. The prices are more than they were when Payless had brick n' mortar, but everything has escalated in price. I still have five unworn pairs of heels in sizes 13 or 12W from one of their Veterans' Day sales.

Everyone should be looking at JCP and Macy's, I've been able to grab more than enough(is there ever enough?) shoes and boots, 12m and sometimes 12W, often at just over $20 or so!

Check out Kohl's, too. In their markdown section I have seen shoes that appeared to have been shipped to a customer, but returned to the store (? -- the box still had the tracking label with the original customer's name and address, which I removed and told management about.) My point being, that you might find shoes in sizes not normally stocked in the store, that had been mail-ordered, but the original customer didn't like the fit.

Darned, closed without posting. Give norstromrack a try, sometimes they will have something. Check out macys. Be sure to watch width as women's are often too narrow. Good brands: bella vita, propet, clarks. Narrow even in wide: journee, easy street,

I don't think, as a woman, you have to be over 6' tall to have size 12 (women's) shoes. Kate Winslet is 5'6", and she has size 11 feet. (Just like me! :) )
