As a man...As a woman

Our daily lives require us to perform various activities. What do you enjoy doing and what do you never do as a:

When dressed as a woman I particularly enjoy doing exactly the same things I do in male mode, to experience the difference, as tiny as it may be. So there's not really a thing I'd do in female mode that I wouldn't do in male mode or vice versa.

I am a man. I only wear female clothes in leisure mode never for work. I only have one personality so nothing changes there.

Pretty much the same things. Yesterday I wired more electrical plugs in my basement in my jean skirt and silk cami. I could probably do most everything dressed either way but I believe it's the conditions or the location of the task. I would love to work on my car dressed but that's to risky outdoor activities. I must admit it is more fun to do things dressed, my wife usually insists I dress when doing some chores, she says I'm more patient and put more of a women's touch when doing things dressed.

I don't get much time "as a woman" - so that's harder to answer, but the answer is pretty much "not dirty jobs."

I am primarily an in-home dresser. On my agenda this weekend is two jobs: (1) replace the wax ring on one of the toilets, and (2) replace the rubber ring on one side of the kitchen sink drain. No way is Stephanie going to don a pretty dress and heels to do those jobs. Heavy maintenance is a guy job.

Before my wife retired I would have a full work day of domestic chores to accomplish. After dropping her off at work I would change into a pretty dress, heels and hosiery, all the proper undergarments with wig and maybe lip gloss. I would spend the day a la June Cleaver; baking, meal preparation, laundry, ironing, vacuuming, changing bed linens, etc. All those domestic chores I also do in my male attire.

I'm a retired femme/androgynous/hybrid dresser who is always a man. Even in a nice dress with pantihose, I'm still a man. I tend to do as much as possible in as freestyle of a presentation as I have the courage to pull off. I choose items for the utility in doing a task, but it's not rare for me to be working in the back yard in women's shorts and a sports bra with women's sneakers. I am fortunate to have a private back yard. If I presented in the real world the way I present at home, people would make assumptions about me that just aren't true. So I limit the exposure in public for the most part but with small tells.

I've been hit on by a number of nice guys and would have loved going along with them. But, I KNOW what they want and I can't go there no matter how I'm dressed!:doh:

I always go to church in male mode. I go to a Trans-friendly church, but some things are more difficult to accept than others. I don’t like to make others uncomfortable.

There is a cigar store where they have never seen me in male mode. To them I am Cynthia Davis. Also, when I take old clothes to Goodwill, I never go in male mode. They have only seen me as Cynthia. Most other places have seen me in both male and female mode. When I first started going out en femme I deliberately tried to go every place en femme that I had gone in male mode. The only exception is Home Depot.

There's not much that I do that is gender stereotyped, so I do whatever needs to be done
I own a very old house (built 1882) which needs a lot of work and modernisation.
If I'm alone, I do the work wearing leggings and a feminine t-shirt with bra and forms.
Being tight-fitting I find leggings much more practical for that kind of work.

The heavier tasks—cleaning bathrooms, gardening, doing that rough cleaning—I tackle in a masculine way. But tasks that require delicacy, like making the bed, organizing the living room, or preparing something in the kitchen, I do in my feminine way, dressed and feeling like a woman.

Going to the supermarket, for example, depends on the moment: if I'm in a hurry, I go in masculine mode; but when I have time, I like to go as a woman—calmly, gracefully, and with the pleasure of enjoying every detail.

As I see it, most modern women dress in clothes that are very similar to men's so I imagine the clothing makes very little difference when doing everyday tasks. I'm not a "modern" woman (or a modern crossdresser!) preferring to dress as women did in what I regard as much more interesting clothing in the past (1960s and 70s). I was intrigued, back then, about how the women and girls I knew managed to perform a wide variety of activities while wearing dresses or skirts, stockings and the underwear of the day. As an example, my wife would sometimes go into our garden to do some jobs (seed-sowing, weeding, etc) still wearing most of the clothes (not heels!) she had been wearing during the working day. Depending on season and other factors that might include a straight or wide or short-ish or long-er skirt or a dress but always stockings and always a bra and girdle. Just occasionally, to avoid getting her skirt messy, she would quickly pull on a pair of trousers over her underwear, even tucking her slip into the trousers to avoid having to undress and take it off. Of course, as soon as her garden time ended she would immediately take off the trousers and get back into the skirt.

Over many years, although not being an out-and-about dresser, I have enjoyed trying all the regular household interior jobs while dressed similarly and have also done quite a bit of gardening with trousers pulled on over girdle and stockings. The experience has only served to heighten my admiration for those 60s and 70s women: there's no doubt that managing such activities in a dress/skirt and coping with the restraints of a firm girdle, suspenders and stockings is a challenging experience. When I used to question whether my wife found it uncomfortable or difficult she would always say "not really - I'm used to it"!

I don't usually do electrical or mechanical work because it's cheap to hire a professional where I live. If I did, I'd do it as a man, dressed like this. It suits me better.

I can't say never, but as a woman I try to avoid doing things that are obviously going to get me dirty.
I don't work on the cars, I don't do yardwork.
I do enjoy housework though. Cooking, laundry, cleaning and decorating fall into my purview. I also love primping and dressing to the nines for a special night out.

As a man there's practically nothing I won't do, but what I truly dislike is having to get dressed up. A suit is the bane of my existence and wearing a tie is like a noose.

Outdoors is male mode and indoors is mostly female mode. One thing I do know is I have a much shorter fuse in male mode. Yesterday, my insulin pump was having issues, and my blood glucose went into the stratosphere. I was really pi**ed off and made no bones about it as I stomped thru the house yelling at everybody and nobody. I was just plain unhinged. I have never erupted like that when dressed in my favorite bras, forms, and dresses. I am simply a calmer person when dressed. My wife never yells. I wonder if that's because she's wearing a bra and panties or if she's just a calmer, more controlled person. I think she's calmer and more controlled than I am. :bonk:
