Until you're uncomfortable enough that it seems better to switch to another pair of shoes :cheeky:

I don't know specificaly about sandals, but I wear 3" heels regularly around the house and can do so for several hours without pain. I think the key is proper fit. The shoes that I have that are a bit small (10 1/2 or 11) as opposed to 12's are far less comfortable.
Also, I have been wearing heels a few times a week for 8 years now. I think the fit and experience make a lot of difference in one's comfort level.

try wearing open-toed platform heels, lil more comfortable but can still hurt after a while. pointy toed heels are murder, not really meant to walk in unless you have pointy shaped toes.

Felicia, I've been wearing heels (2" up to 4") for many more years then I care to remember. Just remember, if they hurt after awhile, you need to take them off and opt for a more comfortable pair. You can in the long run do harm to your feet. I know, I had funny things happen to my toes and toe nails. It's not worth it to go on hurting, especially if it's unbearable.

As your attorney I advise you get down to Payless immediately if not sooner.
Pick me up on your way.

For me. It all depends on how high the heel is as to how long I can comfortably wear them. When they start hurting, I will switch to a lower heel.
I spent eight years selling womens shoes. (That is when I picked up most of my heels.) You can do serious damage to your feet wearing heels for to long of a period. If you ever go out and will be out for an extended period of time, rake a second pair of lower heels or flats with you so that you can change when they become uncomfortable.
