A profile (http://www.arktimes.com/Articles/ArticleViewer.aspx?ArticleID=b1064fb2-5ca9-4943-999d-f748af7f6db9) of Becca and Dixie who run the En Femme Getaway (http://www.femmegetaway.com/) going on right now in Eureka Springs, AR.

And a related article (http://www.arktimes.com/Articles/ArticleViewer.aspx?ArticleID=b08125a8-6984-44dc-b629-1eb44853e328) on how Eureka Springs, a long-time Christian vacation destination, is also becoming a LGBT destination.

Although some shop owners are upset -- one closed his bakery rather than serve gays -- the Chamber of Commerce is firmly behind the quarterly "divesity weekends." For similar reasons to why Palm Springs warmed up to "lesbian spring break" -- money talks. One shop owner marveled at how he had 2,000 gay shoppers in a single day.

The nice thing is, after the whole money talks thing, many find out that those of us in the LBGT community are good decent people. Except for the few really narrow minded, it is very hard to keep believing the stories and lies when the truth is shopping in your store.

I agree with Charlene. Once you get your foot in the door, they realize you are like everyone else and you know what from the gays, cd's that I have met (not a lot) they are nicer than 50% of the "straight" people I meet. I think they show smore respect and kindness towards people then the everyday "joe" does. I think that is maybe partly because of their struggle to be accepted, they are MORE tolerant to society than society is to them......

It is a shame how people are looked down upon because they aren't conventional.....
