Lengthy article (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/04/26/DDGEMIEF771.DTL&feed=rss.news) in today's SF Chronicle about one of the leading surgeons who does facial feminiation surgery and some of the varying opinions within the TS community about the pros and cons of FFS.
As a transitioned friend of mine said elsewhere, it does makes one wonder why one of the profiled patients, Stacy Windsor, thought it was so necessary, if she really "looks like Hilary Swank" and everyone where she works "assumes she's a biological female." Granted the reporter agrees with Windsor's assessment that she's got a big nose, but is getting a nose job really helping her "feel more 'integrated' in her female identity" or just making her feel better about herself in the same way that other people who get nose jobs do?
BTW, if you click the photos to the right of the article, you can see the full-size versions.
