What does your wife call you when en femme? Mine calls me 'Esther' but often (en femme or en drab) 'Sis'. (Ive gotten a few strange looks when we're in the mall and i'm en drab.)

My wife tends to use my femme name (the one she prefers). She has started to get concerned that she may slip and use the femme name when referring to me while talking to her friends. She is worried about being embarassed or having to explain. I try to tell her it would be a non-issue but that doesn't help.

My SO and I treat Maria as a third person so she say "Maria this" and "Maria that" On the very very rare occasions my SO and Maria have been out together she has refered to me by that name.

I wish my wife would call me anything when I am "en femme", even "you idiot"... But she doesn't since she doesn't want to see me "en femme"...:o
Love.

My wife has refered to Francine as 'the other woman'.
So I do keep my dressing and such low-key to her. She has no desire to see me dressed, even though she knows I obviously do it by the wardrobe that takes up half my closet.

My ex called me Katie when I was dressed. And that was a good deal of the time. So she would all too often call me Katie when we were out shopping together. She always said oops but I'm not sure that it was ever a slip. She even held a dress up to me at Wal-marts once and started talking about how it would fit me, in earshot of several other women. She said later it was just natural and didn't realize she did it. But it was exciting however she meant it. :winking:

but my husband does not have one. I am hopeful that someday she will have a name of her very own. In the past I have simply called her babe or sweetness.

I never accepted myself untill I gave her a name maybe she really does not want this or is really confused about it. Giving myself a name was the best thing for me.

My wife calls me "girlfriend" or Tina, and we certainly talk about Tina as a separate person (i.e. "Tina would like that, or would look good in that"). She will also ask me (in drab) if Tina is going to dress today?
fun :)

my SO doesn't know I have a femme name. Recently, 'though, she's changed her own name from the feminine form to the same name . . . but without the final "a"
says something, doesn't it?, that nobody really thinks twice about that. slightly odd, maybe, but not a problem. and for people meeting her for the first time, not even odd at all.
but if I were to decide to use my femme name??? horrors!

I do call my SO by her fem name, but seeing as it is an extended version of her male name (Nigel-lla) I do shorten it to Nigel, but in public it is Nigella.

My wife doesn't know that I have a fem name either. And she has made it clear that she should never see me dressed. So I am afraid to think what she would call me. I think that it would go something like this. "You !@#@#$% Freak, GET THAT !*@$ !$%& @*($% STUFF OFF, RIGHT NOW BEFORE THE KIDS GET HOME. "

Joy,
I believe you are right. Since this has been going on in the shadows for over forty years I have to assume a part of my DH and it is a need more than simply a want, while society and life has taught him to reject it. The struggle is painful enough to witness, I cannot imagine living it. The doubts, the fears and the shame with moments stolen here and there that bring peace quickly followed by fear of discovery and all the negatives come pouring back in. :( I keep hoping she will come here and at least read, but it hasn't happened much yet. [2-3 X's] It brought a small measure of comfort [it seemed] knowing DH was not the only one, but no real peace.
I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones as my femme name is Toni and my real name is Tony so my wife doesn't have a problem with it and which is why I chose it in the first place.

I never call my SO by the female name, unless we happen to be at a CD gathering or CD messege board, then I feel it's the polite thing to do. As far as I know this "arrangment" that we both prefer :)

I always call Louise by her femme name, always have done, calling her by her male name seems odd and feels weird. Louise has now legally changed her name to Louise but her family and mine still refuse to call her by it. Her parents do not want her grandmother to know and are still trying to pretend it does not exist, so when we visit them we end up having to revert her male name to keep the peace. Other than that I just can't call her by her male name without it feeling strange. I guess my advantage is that I met her as Louise in the first place.

My wife calls me "Doug", or "Hey you get off your ass!", but never "Julie." She sometimes, very rarely, speaks of Julie in the 3'rd person, as in "Looks like Julie's handiwork" :)

He lies like a rug! I never say get of your ass! ... and I am rarely home to call him Julie at an appropriate time .. (kidnik in the house) ... work keeps me busy, but I do try to keep up with the times .. went shopping today , bought hair dye, nail polish, panties, none of which were for me :p

Nothing like jumping in on a thread in the middle of a lovers' quarrel. Anyway, nearly seven years ago when I told my wife about me, she asked if I had a name. I told her then that when she met me, I would introduce myself to her. Still waiting.

When we are out in public I always use Amanda.....*except when I have had too much to drink..then I might make a tiny error....or the day our car got towed and I yelled "holy s*** boy name where the "f" is our car!!!!" But I would like to think that is sort of allowed when your car has been towed.
Now when we are home I use the boy name. Unless I have had too much to drink then well.....
Do you all see a pattern???
I did ask though while we were dating how serious he was about using the girl name at home and my sweety said it did not matter which name I used...as long as it was one of two names he uses!

My wife helped me decide on my name and it is similar to hers. When I am en femme she uses it and when I am drab she refers to Danielle in the third person as when we are shoping she will ask if Danielle would like something or if it would fit her. Yesterday she was getting dressed for a wedding and I came in the bedroom she wanted to know if Danielle had some cotton gloves to put her hose on with as her hands were rough, she knew I did, and smiled.

My wife is very willing to call me "Olivia" or "Livy". There is a little bit of tendency to speak in the third person as if Olivia is somone we both know and a little tendency to avoid addressing me directly by name, but it's not very different in that respect than her use of my drab name.

In a way, having thought this over, it's actually more intimate when she calls me by my birth name, knowing who and what I am. "Julie" is a persona, a dramatic mask..."Doug" is a crossdresser....me.
Clare
05-01-2006, 08:47 PM
My former wife never knew I was a crossdresser, let alone have a femme name! But one night when she was preparing her AVON order (she was a rep), I asked if I could have some perfume - her response was 'no way Christine'! I said I like that name and she could call me that anytime. She said it wasn't going to happen - whether the perfume or name!
I would get a sense of acceptance if a future SO ever called me by my femme name.

She always calls me "Beth" when I am Beth.
She calls me Beth in other situations where Beth is the proper name to use.

well, since my "en femme" name now equals a nickname of my male name, everyone calls me by my "en femme" name, all the time, whether I am masculine or feminine that day. Mine is very ambiguous with regard to gender assignment.
I made them the same when I realized it's pointless to divide one person into two half-people, since it requires both those halves to create one whole, unique individual.
