It has been said that the demise of the slip/petticoat is in part due to skirts with lining, and you can't wear a slip under denim !!
Well what do you think ? it feels and looks ok to me :cheeky:
Maybe a bit too much on show :o

Why would you want to wear a slip under a denim skirt? Denim isn't see through, which is the main reason one would wear a slip... so I see no point other than you like the feel of it?

Well Tamara you've got a point, but I think back in the 60s when I was at school every girl would always wear a slip, even if the skirt was see through or not, so why ? Could I suggest it was the feel or just maybe back then girls knew just what that little bit of lace could do !
By the way if you can't see through denim why wear panties ? I know it would'nt feel right

I don't think wearing slips has much to do with being practical.
For me it's definitely the feel of the material.
The choice of colours, and a touch of pretty lace.
They really are the most feminine of garments, there is no male equivalent of a slip.
I love wearing slips.
Jo,
I think your denim skirt with a peek of lace looks lovely.

I don't like to wear slips if I don't have to. I think the white lace would look pretty on the hem of the denim skirt, don't you? Billie Jean:thumbsup:

When ever I am wearing a dress or a skirt, wether it be denim, lined, or not, I always wear a slip. I like the feel of the slip, so femme, and i find it helps to make the skirt hang better, and it also helps eliminate static cling.
Even when not wearing a skirt, for dress, i will often wear a cami, as i just love the feel of the material

When I wear a denim dress, I wear a slip underneath it. I figure real cowgirls don't but then a real cowgirl could kick all of our backsides (because we are these weak feminine females). Anyway, since I dance a lot, I'm gonna wear a satin or nylon slip under denim. Don't want that denim rubbing against my poor delicate freshly shaved legs!! Take care, Ericka

If you enjoy slips, as I have since childhood, go ahead and wear one!
I started out trying on my mom's slips and a slip still excites me to no end today!
Slips help with a sheer dress but feel wonderful with anything!
I'd like to get pettipants to wear under my pants so I could feel feminine even in drab.

I got busted by mom in my teens wearing a slip. She never said anything about it but I've kinda sworn them off! But I have to go with Tamara on this one. Not under jean material.

If you are comfortable wearing a slip go ahead.

Jo, if your slip feels as good as it loks you are one very lucky lady. Slips are so feminine and should be worn under almost all skirts and dresses. Thanks for sharing this slip with us all. I think with respect that Tamara is out of step withe majority of the ladies here.

Hey if you like slips than wear them what the big deal whether you need one or not, do you need panties under pantyhose?

Never liked denim - not feminine at all. So I'd say keep the slip (which is lovely) and the dark tights (or stockings?) but ditch the skirt!
Silky slips forever!

ok growing up partly on a farm helped me with this on. Ok girls you should never wear a slip under denim unless it's a cotton slip. And its a half slip at that. My aunt taught all the g girls this because of side sattleing and also for other reasons ( quick swim in the lake. Never a satin slip oh god no.

To me it's a slip only if the material is some what see through. Or if I am dressing for a formal party. Then it dressing to the 9s. Garter belt nylons etc.

Slips under everthing !!! A slip finishes the outfit and is extermly sexy if it accidently shows. Keeps your legs from being chaffed. Doesn't matter if it's demin or paper

Slips are not only made for skirts or dresses which material is too transparent. They are of course useful in that role. But there would be at least two other reasons why I like to wear a slip, even under a denim skirt:
1/ When the temperature is low... That adds a layer of protection against the cold...
2/ When the skirt material (denim or other) is too rough and it is unpleasant on my skin...
Love.

I dress to swish and denim doesn't swish enough by itself to please me. So, slips definitely.

I always wear slips when not wearing jeans.Slips are one of the truly essential garments that were symbolic of what was feminine and sexy for my age group (50's),and number among the many things that were lost to younger girls for the sake of comfort and convenience and speed.Let's keep slips going,I'm just not a lady without one. Rant over.
Cheers,

The primary purpose of a slip is to allow skirts made of a coarse material (such as denim) to move and hang freely around the legs and bum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slip_%28clothing%29
Sometimes it's nice to wear such a skirt just to have the excuse to wear a slip.

I just bought a darling little denim dress but it is just a bit tight and hard to get out of so I am going to try wearing a slip under it to see if it makes it easier to get it off. Now if I could just lose a few pounds! :D

I for one wear a slip under all of my skirts with the exception of a couple of minis. Right now I'm wearing my demin skirt and have a slip under it lust like I would with any other skirt. I don't see any problem.

If you enjoy slips wear one. I'd never considered wearing one with denim but it does look awful sexy.
