So what I want to know is, what is your most essential dressing item? For me it's pantyhose, couldn't dress without it, it's my favorite. I hope that I covered the important things, if your option isn't here, please say what it is.

Due to the after affects of prostate cancer, I wear stretch nylon panties and because of diabetes that causes legs to swell, I wear support hose 24/7. So I have to say it is lingerie that really makes me feel efemme. Silky slips and cami's is where I start.

A nice pair of sexy high heels and a silkie pair of pantyhose makes the whole outfit for me. Without out that I feel that I am not completly dressed. Sometimes I walk around wearing pantyhose and heels with my male side.

Like any architect will tell you, you've always got to start with a good foundation. So for me it's the lingerie whether it's just panties for when I am in drab or the full works with forms, bra, panties, stockings and slip for that extra special moment around the house.

I have long straight sandy-blonde hair. When I'm in drab (I hope that's the right term) it's usually tied in a more masculine pony-tail with the same ol' worn baseball cap that I always wear.

But when I do my thing, my hair gets the absolute most attention :) I like to read about new hair styles and do the how-to's, but I usually fail misserably :p a lot of hair styles are so complex without help. So I usually end up in some kind of bun, top pony tail, pigtails (ooh I love pigtails :luvu: ) or something else I can do well :)

Most essential items are 3 fresh Shick Super Slim razors a can of Aveeno "Positively Smooth" shave gel, and tweezers. After that one of my wigs, and shoes of course, as Butterfly Bill pointed out shoes pretty much a requirement if you don't want to ruin your pedicure :winking: The remaining items I pretty much have no use for and try and avoid if at all possible.

As I guy you could call me a "face man" as that was the most important feature of a woman to me. As a CD that translates into my needing the face and head to be just right. I don't get into the groove until my face is made up all the way and my wig is styled properly. I occasionally try on clothes without this when I'm in a hurry. Those times are not anything like my usual dressing sessions.

My usually progression is: breasts (forms and pocket bra), hip (pads and panty hose), skirt and top, shoes, make-up then wig and jewelry. Then the fashion show starts as I try on combinations of new and old clothes.

Underdressing just isn't dressing to me. And, of course, a person could go out in public without underwear of any kind. Yes, of course, given enough time, I also prefer to be all dolled up. But the question was about the most essential. For me, its something that would help gain me admission to a restaraunt (no shirt, no shoes, no service etc.) but that does NOT have legs. For me, that would be a dress or skirt, because heels or sandals alone just don't do it for me, and I just hate pants.

Other points about the bra won't apply to me because my foam breasts will usually stay put pretty well under knit clothing, without a bra.

Then again, I went swimming in a one-piece at a public lake once, and was not wearing a dress, so maybe I am a liar, or maybe there is no honest absolute answer.

At this very moment, I'm in a knit pullover shirtdress and sandals, with no forms, no wig, no makeup, and just drab underwear. So I'm a very LAZY crossdresser sometimes. :hugs:

Picked up my forms several years ago to complete a good figure, but just love those heels; with jeans, shorts, skirts, lingerie, satin pajamas, dresses; heels are like a good wig they are the foundation, and the roof of our transformation; all the rest is the paint and the siding, many colors and textures that bring joy to the moment.
