Hey guys, turns out the magic words in searching are "men's short and small."
Better yet, another FTM, Hudson, has compiled a fairly comprehensive list (http://web.mit.edu/hudson/www/shortmensclothes.html) of U.S. stores (sorry Kells....) that carry FTM-suitable sizes. (BTW, the list is a little outdated, some of the stores do now have online catalogs despite Hudson's notes to the contrary.) And just remember, things can always be altered by a tailor for final adjustments -- for example, to shorten a pant leg or sleeve.
BTW, it looks like Hudson has a lot of other useful FTM info on his site.
