This is something that came to me today at work. I thought if i were born female would I crossdress to be male? never thought of it before since i'm male and dress as a female but what do some of you think about this?

Even if I were a female, I would still crossdress. I am drawn to strange and unusual activities. Crossdressing would let me develop the masculine side of me.

I don' think I'd dress as a man if I were female.
There are so very many beautiful choices in a woman's wardrobe; why would I want to bother with the dull wardrobe of a man?
What are you on??? lol ;)
Its bad enough that I dont understand me already ... stop it! You are doing my head in!!

I have no idea!
I mean, all indicators are that our desire to crossdress is based on a chemical effect in our brain, so that same - or reverse - process would still have to be in our female brain to continue crossdressing, albeit in an opposite way.
All things being equal, that same urge to crossdress would still be there I guess. I mean we have MtF's and FtM's here, so it does work both ways!

I honeslty don't think I would, but if I were female I'd be a total fashionista, one of those ladies who would always try to look her best and take good care of herself, latest fashions, etc etc etc...

LOL I asked this question in the FTM section. (Cosmically doomed to be a CD?) Having been born female would obviously have some effect on me. But if I were largely like I am now, I would probably crossdress to express my male side. Sometimes you just can't win for losing.

I think that if I were born female I would be satisfied just being who I am. But who knows? I was'nt born female and the grass always appears greener on the other side. I have said it before and I will say it again: I don't believe that females have life any easier than males, perhaps harder, but I do think that I would have been happier as a female.

A girl dressing to be a boy is that unusual. I know it is very normal for a boy to dress as a girl. The other way around omg would that make them gay or something.

I doubt I would. However, knowing myself as I do I strongly suspect I would be the kind of woman who seldom wears skirts or dresses, doesn't get into fancy undies, wears little makeup, etc. In other words, genetically I'm pretty sure I am the girl I do NOT strive to be as a crossdresser! Weird, eh?

I agree with Lillith nobody would notice.
Women get to wear male clothes and nobody ever makes any adverse comments.

Gee, those FtMs were born female and do crossdress!
As for me I'd just be an ordinary lesbian then instead of a lesbian in a mans body, wouldn't I?:daydreaming:

Once again, we have a loaded question. It really comes with a caveat. What you're really trying to say is, "If you were the exact same person you are now, only born female, would you crossdress?" The answer is no doubt yes, because almost all women crossdress these days. It's permissable for them, you see.

If and when i was ever born and or became female. I certainly would have no desires to dress in male clothing whatsoever.
Because no matter how hard they might try they can never make male clothing soft enough or in all of the color's that females have.
Unless they finally do make female type clothing for us males and by this i do mean dresses and skirts for us males and not to mention the under clothing as well.
therefore i would have no desires to ever dress in male clothing if i were female. I would still perfer female clothing all around!;.

I think it would be impossible to say for sure.
There are alot of variables and factors involved in a true qualitative response.
As for me, I am a non-conformist by nature, unless I can conform flawlessly and easily. So that would depend on certain variables as well.

wow what an uproar i've created here with a simple little question but it is interresting to see the many different responces though. Now as for the thread crasher if I were to walk down the street wearing my skirt and blouse with no wig or makeup everyone would refer to me as weird or gay or even strange but let a gg walks down the street wearing mens clothes she is considered stylish and trendy and I for one hate that because i'm not trendy or stylish for wearing womans clothes in public i'm referred to as a freak and of not being normal. Now i'm aggrivated because this is by far my biggest pet peeve. Just like a loving husband can't even shop for his wife without the clerks looking at him funny let alone checkout an intamite item without stares from the clerk ringing the purchase up. I'm going to quit now before I go to far sorry I asked this question in the first place ttfn

bredalee,
As several ftm crossdressers pointed out, a gg dressing in pants to be fashionable is not the same as a gg trying to present as a male. She is simply trying to be a stylish and trendy female.
If you want to know about *real* ftm crossdressing then why not consult the ftm guys in this forum ?

lillith the point i'm trying to make is this i can't wake up tomorrow morning and decide to just put on a blouse and go about my day without being bashed for it. Now if a gg woke up and decided to put on a shirt made speciffically for MALES can do it and not a person will say a thing about it. I'm not trying to present myself as female in wearing a blouse just want to wear somthing different do you understand what i mean now. ttfn

Actually, ladymoonserpent started a rather interesting thread (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29662) you might want to have a look at. For the purposes of your discussion here it sounds like it really doesn't matter if the FTMs try to present as male or not, they get comments just by wearing male clothes.
I know some of you guys are reading this. You know better than I do what I'm trying to say. I'm trying to be very careful exactly what I do say. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I absolutely agree that our choice of drab clothing really sucks and if we try to be a bit creative we get ridiculed. GGs have far more freedom of choice.
I was just clarifying the point that, in our society, a gg wearing pants is not equivalent to a gm wearing skirts.

A female is what I want to be...So why dress like someone I don't want to be?
I should have been born a female to begin with...luck of the draw I guess.

Hi everyone,..i have no idea if i would want to dress as a male. I have spent most of my life wanting to be a woman, and i sincerely hope that i would be completely satisfied as a woman. I was a child in the fifties when women wore girdles, and stockings . I first dressed at 14 in an obg, and stockings. I still remember the joy of feeling feminine, and the frustration of being male.

In the seventies my SO bought me a leisure suit OMG couldn't have been a skirt suit! I think it all comes down to accepting others, women are that way for the most part men ain't. I have run into women in the men's changing rooms trying on jeans, so big deal but a guy in women's changing rooms oh boy call the police he must be here to ravage the women. Like the song say's "It's Your Thing Be Who You Want To Be".

Interesting question. My answer is that, I dunno.
But, reminds me of a story that the SF Weekly (or was it the Guardian?) ran in the mid-90s about gay men who had sex changes and became lesbians.
Took a while to get my head around that one, but the subjects said that they'd always wanted to be female, but in the end found that they were simply drawn to the gay lifestyle.

Wow, what a great question!
When I've spoke to my partner (raksha) about my crossdressing, to me my crossdressing is more than just wearing clothes, ie what ever I can do to appear more female is a way forward to me. it more than just throwing on a dress and slapping on some lippy.
My crossdressing has always been a mind game, and can I totally cross that Male to female devide, and I think I'm really close sometimes, if I could go all out, no holds bared, I'm sure I could be accepted fully as fem, if i didn't drop my guard so to speak.
Also As I have found the FtM forum just as interesting as our own, yes I'm sure if was a Girl I would still be a crossdresser. I like to wear nice undies, and yes it feels good, but Tracy, is never Tracy till the illusion is complete, therefore I'm sure I would feel the same on the flip side. for just as I have taped my chest, to make more than an acceptable (an very respectable) cleavage, I've read with interest there posts on binding their torso's to hid there femininity. (infact I'm still looking to find out how that tackle the subject of faking a manhood, not for any other reason, other than being really interested in how they deal with that issue (ie not different from us tucking, using a gaff, or other means!) the nod thread also really got me thinking, as last night I found myself doing just that, yet in forty five years i had never noticed " The Nod principal"
So yes, I'm sure, if I was a girl, I'd certainly would have tried to present as a man, at some point!!!

This premise is the ultimate "what if" senerio for many... However, even if we were lucky enough to have it happen, unless you had the luck to retain your very same brain and / or stored away memories, you really wouldn't know or necessarily care... cause girls... you would be a totally NEW person...
That said, I sure would hope that I'd be a lipstick lesbian, it would be criminal to have the body and NOT make use of all the available clothing, accessories and opportunities which GG have when it comes to fashion.
Cheers
