View Full Version : Excuses to shave my legs

Hi All,

Wondered if anyone could help me out with a bit of a dilema; I've got a few weeks away which gives me chance to dress up (hooray) and I'll really like to show a bit of leg (I *think* I have quite nice legs :blushing: )

Problem is that when I get back the lack of hair is going to be rather noticable to my significant other (who doesn't know about this side of me) and she probably won't be impressed!

So are there any plausible excuses I could possibly use?

Seeya,

Fiona

unless you're a competition swimmer!

unless you have a nasty gouge/wound on your leg. My doctor suggested to shave around my leg injury to help the heeling process, ... which helped the leg heel, but looked weird..so I shaved both legs.... all the way up. That was 2 years ago..and I'm still shaving.

I have felt the very same way about shaving my expose part's :D and some NOT so exposed:) my arm's for one in the summer, I felt so strong on wanting to be fully hairless that I did it, the leg's was no problem long as I didnt go swimmin. but my arm's were the problem, but my need was so great that I went ahead and did it, Im lucky that my wife know's of my C Ding and put's up with me, but even she felt unconfortable about my shaving my arm's,
I DID IT !! I just had to and how wonderful it felt to be total hairless, I was thinking if someone had said anything id say my arm's ich alot and someone told he to shave them and you know what? It worked, so now im hairless and I careless what other's think, Ava is being Ava !!!! give it a try. Huggie's, Ava.:hugs:

I too considered this a problem, I suppose that if you have dense dark hair it is!. However, if it is sparse and fine and pale coloured, she'll probably never notice, and/or neither will those intended to appreciate the lovely exposed legs whether you do or don't shave it off.

unless you're a competition swimmer!

Funny you mention that! I didn't play many sports in school, but I went out for the swimming and diving teams, just to have an excuse to shave my legs, arms and chest, and wear Speedos. Since the school's team colors were red and white, I had to have one of each, as well as a striped one. Even as far back as the 9th grade, I was thrilled by any excuse to wear bikinis, or at least the closest thing to that they made for guys!

Only trouble was, I got some funny looks when I wore those anywhere other than at a meet or at practice. It was one thing at the school's aquatic center, or the other team's, if we were visitors, but at beaches, lakes, pools, water parks, etc., it was something else entirely! I'm sure there were people who wondered why I kept wearing those and shaving my legs when the start of the team season was months away! They probably knew it went a little further than just athletic purposes!:D

I have been a lifelong CD and have allways wanted to shave my legs but I was allways afraid to do so because of the comments I THOUGHT I would receive. Well about 3 years ago on Good Morning America they did a segment on how the latest craze in high schools was for the guys to shave their legs. I jumped at the oportunity and made sure that my wife had seen the segment. That night or the next, I forget which, I just went up and shaved. I was a little nervous about my wife seeing me for the first time but I just came downstairs with shorts on and said something like "Well, what do you think?" She said "Why did you shave you legs?" I told her that I had allways wanted to and reminded her of the GMA segment. That was all she said. A couple days later I asked her if she prefered my legs shaved or hairy, her reply was 'Shaved". I have been shaving ever since then and the only comments I have ever gotten have been comments from women about how good my legs looked. When I think of all the years that I could have been shaving........ The only thing that stopped me was my fear of what people would say..... Well, I have found that people don't notice, and the few that do don't say a thing. Everyone is wraped up in their own private lives and reallly don't care as much as we think they might. If anyone were to say something all you have to say is "I like the look and the feel" end of subject. Swimmers, male models, bodybuilders, wrestlers and bicyclists shave, some even shave thier whole bodies and no one gives it a second thought. We, because we do it for more private reasons, are afraid to shave.. One last thought.... This is OUR life, it's NOT a dress rehersel. We get once chance at life and it would be such a shame to think that we must live it in such a manner as to conform with the ideals that others have for us. I am I, and you are you, and that's how we must live our lives... As long as we don't do anything to infringe on someone elses life, stay within the moral and civil laws, we have nothing to fear but fear itself..
Hugs, Sandi

It's mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

Took me a couple of years to realize that. I just enjoy having them shaved.

Even if NOT in CD "Mindset", I just enjoy the feeling of slipping inbetween the sheets with freshly shaved legs........slipping into Levi 501's in the morning - oh yeah!

Phew this is a tough one. Assuming your SO knows everything about you and your lifestyle, and currently you don't do any activities that would warrant it (swiming, cycling etc), I can't see any plausable reason to shave your legs......except the one I used when I first did it. Vanity. I used to work out a hell of lot in the gym and I was pretty muscular. I shaved and fake tanned my legs and abdomen saying that hit helped show the definition of my muscles. (which of course it does).

Sandi said everything I was going to say. I told my GF I had resumed dressing the day after I started. She was nervous, but prepared to see where it would take us. I was prepared to drop it if she was really opposed.
After a month, I just couldn't see wearing stockings with hairy legs, and one Sunday morning, in the tub, I put a new head on my Mack3 and shaved. I had some shaver spots, but generally, not bad. A clerk at a store suggested shaving cream, which was good, because I had only shaved up to my thighs.
When I saw my Gf next, I just removed my trousers and said, "Check this out." She loved it. Nice and smooth. Been Shaving and waxing my legs ever since. Good luck. Enjoy. If those are your legs in your avatar, you definitely should be displaying them!

Good post Wenda!

Maybe shaving legs is vain - but it just feels good, I do it as second nature now and just like the feeling, and the ease of drying off - OMG! Makes that nice...

I might also add - for those with sensitive skin such as myself (Face) - I've been using womens shaving cream for a couple of years now. I tried to go back to mens but the women's sticks better and I get a closer shave. Plus it smells good but it really does work better....

Soap for the legs though, I'm cheap :D

I am fully shaved now and will never go back.
I had been wanting to shave for a long time, but was concerned as to what comments i might get during the summer especially when I am wearing a t-shirt.
One night just took the courage, fully shaved, that was about 3 years ago, and have not had one comment pro or con.
One evening a few weeks ago, I was out shopping totally femme including wearing panty hose, and that was just after i had shaved my legs again the night before.
Spotted a denim skirt i liked, and tried it on. The sales girl in the store, commented, that it showed off my legs very well, and that she wished she had legs as good as I did.
I was very happy. The skirt fit very well so naturally i bought it.
I think shaving is a case of mind over matter, and we in most cases are our worst enemy.

You kidding me? Women notice everything including that your fly is unzippered, hairs in your ears, etc. Unless you are a body builder, athlete, or movie star, there's no plausible excuse she'll 'buy" for that one. Believe me I know, been there. The first time I shaved my chest, my wife wouldn't sleep with me or talk to me for two days. For some reason, women like hair on guys and look for it. Don't ask me why, beats my bacon. Just might have to "fess up" to this one Hon. Be prepared but remember your sisters are here for you. Take care, Ericka

Well, that was a pretty overwhelming response there!

I'll try and reponsed to all of the comments:

First, Wenda: wow, thanks! Yes, those are really my legs in my pic (I am not rich or famous enough to employ a stunt double :battingeyelashes: )

Cycling: well maybe not yet, but I keep thinking of doing this - my legs are the best part of me, the rest needs to exercise!

Sandi906, good idea ... actually already tried this, kept saying "hey wouldn't this be fun to try" and "I just saw this on TV" ... when I actually did it, my SO freaked out saying "you'll be wanting to wear my tights next!"

[ Actually no, don't really like tights, hold-ups and stockings, yes, but tights aren't my thing  ]

So I have to agree with Erika, there aren't many excuses that'll pass!

As for the advice to just "come out and tell her" ... erm, well that's a little more complicated and probably not the sort of thing I should do now, or for that matter could do  ... but thanks for the offers of support :hugs:

I always shave my legs in Oct., I say I lost a bet on the Army-Navy game. The good thing is it takes "months" to grow back. I just keep shaving for a couple months so it last for awhile. Now I just need a excuse for the summer.

fionasboots

Having managed to get away with this once already I would say that "months" is pushing it a bit.

I found that it took 5 weeks to get back to looking pretty hideous in the leg department. 3 weeks just isn't enough to be able to get away with it in my experience, 4 is cutting it close (or not as the case may be).

Maybe I just need to find bubble-bath that looks very similar to hair-remover and say I got them mixed up

I hate to be a party pooper, but don't you think you should at least be prepared for someday when the inevitable happens and she finds out. Maybe start now gathering info, reading material, prit some info offline, addresses and websites that have SO sections {like this one} for when that day happens and you have to fess up? Wouldn't it be great to be prepared instead of caught like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar?

As for her comments, well that is common. Most women don't want their guy to do this, but you may someday have to be honest and it might be smart to get ready for when that day happens.

Well I have an excuse for you that might work. Being a GG I of course shave my leggs, but in the winter it is less often than summer, well it used to be.
I developed this reaction to my leg hair after it has been growing out for about a week, My skin gets really itchy and dry and if I dont shave on a regualr basis I end up with soar spots from scratching all the time. After asking the doctors we found out that it is an allergic reaction to my leg hair. So far it is only my leggs. May be that will work for you.

What about:
Hairy men's leg just look odd.

Have you ever seen a commercial for men's underwear (or even men's fashion, cosmetics) with body hair ?

(I can't remember one)

To apply moisturizer on hairy body parts is pain in the a**

I think there are a few reasons for shaving, even if you are not a CD.

What about:

I think that this is probably the best excuse, that is if you don't want to make a coming out to your SO. There are plenty of commercial with men with totally hair free legs and chests. The UK soccer player David Beckham was shown in such a picture. In supermarkets one finds now hair removing creams specially created for men.

There is however a negative aspect even with that otherwise excellent answer. It would have been better to tell your hair shaving intention to your SO before... I know, I've been there... I'm not here trying to be the wise "guy"...

When my wife discovered that I had shaved my legs she reacted very badly, eventhough I had a perfect excuse since shaving my legs was made in preparation to a knee surgery. (Actually I had shaved long before so when the surgeon gave me the instructions to shave my leg and with depilatory cream, not with a razor, I felt that this would give me the best ever cover up) Unfortunately I didn't tell my wife immediately. I was stupid.

The bad thing is that she discovered by herself (long story) and was very mad at me, regardless of the "a posteriory" explanations provided by the medical necessity, to which I added that many men were shaving nowadays and thet there were actually depilatory creams for men... She didn't buy that at all...

Any chance that you might let your hair grow back and then start from scratch, expressing your desire to try to shave your legs? That might give you a better chance to start again shaving your legs and even your chest.

I hope you find a solution. But even if it is too late in your case, if that experience could help some other "sisters" it would make me feel better...

Do you ride a bicycle or mountain bike? If so shaving your legs helps with the healing process when ever you fall. This could also work if you happen to rollerblade. Another reason could be that you tape your ankles or knees to play a sport. We all know how much tape hurts or bandaids for that matter when you take them off.

LoL Brenda  :)

Wow, All good ideas ladies. Where were you all when I needed some? I still think your best bet is to "come clean" (so to speak) Hon. It's weak to begin with and women (especially those who know you well) know when you are fabricating a story. You may have to deal with some "fallout" but look at it this way, if you are not being honest and she knows it, how will that look towards your credibility in other things? Just my thoughts. Your decision. Ericka

Kathy, okay good point, but for the moment it's a bit too soon for me to be thinking about this seriously. I sincerely hope that I'm not going to live to regret those words, but I can see no way to come clean now without it having a really bad affect on alot of people (and I'm not counting myself here).

It's probably nothing that other people here haven't been through but I'm not ready to go that route at the moment. Probably worth another thread to go into all the reasons.

So, for now, I'm gonna have to choose between
a) got drunk and accidentally shaved my legs OR
b) take up cycling
c) get someone to dare me to shave my legs - and no, before anyone offers I don't think "Hi honey, the girls on crossdressers.com dared me to shave my legs" would work :D

The consensus seems to be to "fess up" - peer pressure or what

I've been shaving my legs for about three years now. First of all, I don't have masculine-looking legs and I know it. I was always self-conscious about wearing shorts when I was younger. Secondly, my legs weren't as hairy as the other guys', my knees weren't as knobby, and my ankles were more slender and graceful, so most people haven't paid much attention since I started shaving them. I now wear shorts with ankle-socks which expose my legs all the way down to the tops of my tennis-shoes.

I have also noticed a lot of "manly-men" whom I suspect of shaving their legs as well, because I don't believe they are really that smooth.

My wife already knows about the dressing-up. The thing she noticed more than my legs was the absence of a mustache I had sprouted since my mid-twenties. My teenage-daughter is, thus far, the only person who has asked about my legs. To her question "why?" I told her, "because I just like the way they feel without the hair!" To which she gave the standard teenage-girl response, "Ewwwwwwww!!!!!!!"

Fessing up seems a little extreme ,just to shave your legs for a three week vacation. Especially if it (fessing up) would cause as many problems
as you say it might. Maybe you ought to just forget about it for a while..until you are on firmer ground. the cons seem to out number the pros, by a bunch.
If you are looking to come out or get caught..shave away.I am out so it would be easy for me to just say....oh go ahead and spill the beans. I got nothing to lose if you do... Just my opinion

I had the same problem, couldn't stop scratching - went to see the doc and she gave me special soap to wash with. It worked to a certain extent and then one day I decided to shave my legs and since that day I haven't scratched except for once when I went a month after an operation. I don't use the soap any more, just shave, hope this helps.

The cycling option seems the best. There is no query to it as many cyclists wear lycra shorts and shave their legs. Cycling is also a good way to keep in trim and is practical exercise. That is what I would do in your circumstances.

I like to use tanning booths and I always bought tanning sessions for my wife and I, around this time of the year. I would tell her I'm shaving my legs because the hair "shades out" the cosmic rays I'm paying for! Besides that, I always seem to have these bald spots on the front of my upper thighs and on the back of my calves. I guess it must be from wearing tight pants.
She always fell for it!
I really do love that feeling of smoothness when I pull on my pants, let alone pantyhose!
Good Luck!

My wife was tanning about a year ago and she had a coupon for me so I went too. It's funny--tanning felt like a feminine thing to do, and this was before I told her, so this was one of my TS guilty pleasures. It made me look hotter, and more feminine.

Anways, my legs were a lot whiter than the rest of my body after many sessions and I decided it was the leg hair blocking the light out. So I shaved it all off under that guise and that worked for her.

All that leg hair also seemed to soak up a lot of the very expensive tanning lotion (about $45/bottle). So that also worked for my wife as an excuse. I was saving us money and getting my lower legs to the same color as the rest of body.

I think all of this 'femininity' helped lead me up to the point where I was able to tell my wife. It also helped her deal with my being a little feminine, so I think it wasn't as much of a shocker when I came out to her and told her the truth.

Hi

I am very much in the closet unfortunately but after years of dreaming I am now competely hairless!

Recently on holiday there was a charity push for breast cancer where old bras were donated and joined together to try and make the longest chain of bras for the Guiness Book of Records. Obviously I could not donate a bra (mine are much too pretty!) so in the bar that night I offered my legs to the ladies present to be shaved for £100. As the evening wore on and more alchol consumed the idea took seed and the girls kept upping the anti somewhat. In the end I agreed to a total all hair off including back sack and crack! all for the £100! I protested loudly but without to much resistance. Next day my SO and two other GG's appeared armed with razors. I had already done the bits that only I can do the SO did the other more private parts. My legs arms back and chest were shaved completely and then smothered all over in body lotion. A young daughter asked to paint my nails and apply makeup for a fiver of her pocket money and it seemed churlish to refuse. The deal was to go out with all of them husbands as well that night. I was made to wear a camisole top to show off my arms and shorts and flip flops to show of my legs and painted toe nails. The locals didn't know how to take it but we all had a whale of a time and raised over £200 for breast cancer. Later my SO said that she liked it off and said if I wished I could use her razor in the shower regularly which of course I now do. The up side is tanned legs and that stockings and tights feel sooo wonderful. All the girls commented on my girlie legs. Now my skirts are getting shorter and my tights are getting more sheer. To top it all for my birthday I had a voucher from the SO for her beauty salon for a facial, masage ,pedicure and manicure as well as eyebrow shaping. Not bad eh for a girl in the closet!

So do something for charity and remember a lot of guys shave their bodies and electric trimmers and creams are now available specifically for men in the supermarkets. Go with it girl and enjoy the feeling!

LOL

I just did it out of the blue one evening, using veet. Whilst laying beside the SO I could hardly sleep because of what I thought her response would be. After a night of little sleep - she finally awoke to do the habitual rub of her leg on mine. There was the first passover, a minute or two pause, then the second, third, fourth etc. Then it was a without notice question - did you shave your legs? I said no..I waxed them. Then the obvious question, why? My immediate response was that I felt like it. She then said that they were bloody smoother than hers, which was a bit of a buzz. She only complains now when they get a bit prickly (her words). The best way to solve that problem is to continue to shave them..:D

Hi Sandi, Just loved your story, I think it's all how we feel and how much of a chance we are willing to take, You were very lucky to have a wife that didnt mind your shaving, mine dont care either at least she never say's anything, I use Nair ALL!!!!! over my body but am carefull around the lower part:) It's funny but seeing my body so hairless and feeling it so smooth when I put on my nightie after is sooo beautiful. I hope whoever has the idea to shave, think's about it but not for to long ,you either do or dont, this 1/2 way thing really isnt the wy to be, I call it undo STRESSssss. Huggie's, Ava.

There are hose that are designed to cover up hairy legs. They just are thicker and opaque.

Also I was working on the house and got a nasty construction adhesive on me. It soaked thru my shirt. Had to shave my chest to get it off! I suspect you could have an accident with glue on your legs! You do not want to shave just one part of one leg, would look funny so you need to shave both legs to make it look even!

I work construction, so my reason has always been that the dirt and other stuu gets trapped in my hair and causes a rash, so therefore, I must shave..............plus it looks cleaner
