I've posted this elsewhere, but I have had my bum done and it is definately worth the price I paid. The clinic upped their prices though and I'm not so sure anymore though...

Well...according to the US FDA, some lasers are allowed to say they do "permanent hair reduction". That means different things to different people. Will you be completely hair free forever - no. I am down to the little hairs that are translucent and grow short and slowly. Most hairs are gone, but there are a few left. If you want to be completely hair free "forever"...I suggest electro.
And...thank you!
Electrolysis. Its the only FDA approved hair removal method that can claim that its permanent. Its where you get stuck with an electrified needle in each hair follicle and zapped until the hair follicle dies and the hair can be easily removed without you feeling it. Its painful but only on the zapping part, not on the hair pulling. If its done right it doesn't leave any marks after about a week of healing and that particular hair never comes back. Note that there can be multiple hairs in each follicle which will have to be individually zapped on subsequent sessions.

I did have some laser done, but only three treatments. The first treatment they got too hot and I had some burns, nothing permanent, but they toned it down the second and third one. After the third, my wife got upset at the cost and made me stop. I'm seriously considering pushing the issue again, simply because my facial hair grows so quickly in general. I have a t-girl friend that has had electrolysis done and it looks great. I concur with some that have said it is the only "permanent" method, but laser does a good job at lessening the hair growth. I think had I completed all six "treatments" I would be pretty happy. Hope this helps.

Do they charge by the pound, per square inch, or per cheek? Either way I'm gonna need to get me a loan:D

For anybody who's really concerned about the price, and doesn't mind being a guinea pig, get in touch with your local college and see if they have a beauty department. The students need people to practise on and as they're still learning you get it VERY cheap. I'm getting it done for £3 a session :)
