Well, I had to go back to the mall today at lunch to pick up the sport coat I purchased last week…..so of course I did my girlie shopping first. In drab, of course. Back to the Nine West store. The salesperson who waited on me last week was there and gave me a nice greeting. I’m sure she remembered me. I told her I liked the boots I had purchased last week and was back for a pair of black pumps. She brought out several pairs for me to try, and even had some suggestions. I picked out a pretty pair of black high heel pumps and was really thinking about a lovely pair of light brown patterned pumps, but decided to just get one pair. I had a pair of knee highs with me and tried like 5 pairs on while a couple of GGs came in and browsed. No one really noticed me in drab trying ladies shoes, or if they did, they didn’t care. When I left, I just slipped my guy socks back on over my knee highs.

After my purchase, I wanted to go into Victoria’s Secret, but there were a few guys shopping in there, so decided to walk the mall. Back to Filene’s Basement where I tried on a few pairs of shoes while a GG was also browsing. Then into Baker’s Shoes, where I got a very friendly welcome from the sales people. Then into VS, where I browsed a bit at panties and bras. I also saw a woman in jeans and tan pumps, which looked so hot that I decided to go back to Nine West!

Back at Nine West, I bought my second pair of heels of the day. Three saleswomen were there and were very sweet. My SA still hadn’t put the patterned pumps back on the shelf as she thought I had really liked them….she must have figured I would be back. She was very pleased I returned for them. Of course, I modeled them for the other two SAs and they were very complementary. Slipped off my socks...wonder if they were surprised i had my knee highs on? A GG was in there trying on shoes, but I did not care.

And on the way back to my car, I stopped in a leather shop and bought a cute black leather jacket! I was trying on one from the sale rack when a sales guy came up to me and said it didn’t fit me properly because it was from the feminine line. I pointed out that was what I was looking for!

I am such a girl when at the mall….just obsessed with shopping. But it is so much fun, even in drab

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed shopping for shoes yesterday as well and see how this could become an obsession and I didn't even have the guts to try anything on. Your mentioning leaving the VS when guys were around sounds like me--I, too, am very uncomfortable if there are guys around

The question would be--what were the guys doing in VS and for whom were they shopping?:p

Just before Mother's Day...I would assume for their wives.....but who really knows? I just didn't wanna find out!

Seriously, though, I prefer shopping when other women are in the store, not guys. I also would rather deal with female SAs...I am getting friendly with the girls at Nine West. I have no problem at all dealing with women who are accepting of my CDing.

That sounds a lot like some of my Payless sandal purchases. I usually do those in drab, in T-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes. When I find a pair of sandals I want to try on - ankle straps, mules, slides, wedges, whatever - I just slip off my tennis shoes (which are usually fem themselves!), try on the sandals and walk around the store a little. If there are GG customers in the store, they might not have noticed that my legs were shaved, but it's pretty hard to miss red or fuschia toenails! I usually don't have any problems with other customers or SAs, though. In fact, in a couple of stores, they know I'm always looking for something pretty high, so they might say "We just got in some 4" raffia cork wedges you might like" or whatever the new style is. I guess we've got a long road to hoe before all women's departments are that friendly to us!:D

You ladies have alot of courage I would never be able to do stuff like that. Im to shy of a person to even say anything to a girl.

Angela, the SAs are interested in selling their goods....the other customers aren't studying you; they are looking for their own items. If you look and act like you belong, you will be fine
