Some time back, there were a few of you who spoke of using 3M Super77 adhesive to attach breast forms. I've always used Hollister's medical adhesive and have been really happy with it, but it is rather pricey... Just wondering if any of you can speak to Super77 success or problems... besides, of course, it NOT being meant for such use, or knee-jerk reaction to such use.:bonk:

i'd be careful.....it's supposed to be permanent. I guess you could attach your forms to just about anything with it. i am not so sure about to your skin. besides causing injury, what might your body be absorbing? pay the 28.00 for the hollisters and be safe.

There are a lot of medical adhesives around. Some even contain zinc oxide for very sensitive skin. I like Hollister spray or Nu Hope brush on. A container of either one will last a long time. Anything not specifically developed for use on human skin may have irritating or toxic chemicals, use the good stuff.

xxxooo,
RobynSo, do I understand you correctly Robin? That you do NOT want to hear of any potential hazards of using this product on your body?
OK, well for others who may want to know, I pulled this off the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS):
Skin Contact:
Moderate Skin Irritation: Signs/symptoms may include localized redness, swelling, itching, and dryness.
Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause:
Allergic Skin Reaction (non-photo induced): Signs/symptoms may include redness, swelling, blistering, and itching.
4.1 FIRST AID PROCEDURES
The following first aid recommendations are based on an assumption that appropriate personal and industrial hygiene practices are followed.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Immediately flush skin with large amounts of water. Get medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing and clean shoes before reuse.
There is much more of course - well, look at it this way - it will probably destroy your breast forms ;)

Thanks, all... and Dana for the MSDS. Didn't really think using 3M adhesive was advisable, and don't plan to use it... having just now ordered a few more cans of Hollister's adhesive. I was just curious, as there had been some talk of 3M's use. But without any info to the contrary, I'll stay away from it.
Thanks!

So whats the advantage to gluing the forms to your chest ?

Not needing to wear a bra when wearing a spaghettit strap dress. I also have many tops which I prefer not wearing a bra with. I also glue them when wearing a bra because I they stay in place better.

Genifer,
I guess you'd best put this in the "must try it to understand" category. Having your forms attached is simply magic! There is nothing like it!!!!! They simply become part of you, and your bra (if you choose to wear one, and often you won't) becomes what it's meant for: support! This, rather than something to keep things in place. The difference is night and day, and so incredibly feminine. If you're like me, once you do this you'll never stop!

Sorry to be contrary, but, I have used 3M super 77 for some time. If you let it set for at lest 5 inutes, it doesn't burn. That is more than I can say for the 'medical' adhesive that gave me serious chemical burns. JUst becuase a product has warnings on the label, doesn't mean that it is lethal. It just means that the manufacturer is covering all their bases. They will not have done the required tests for that application, hence it is discouraged. It does not mean that the application is dangerous.
I have used 3M Super 77 on overnight applications, with no more reaction from my skin than from self-adhesive forms. I love it. My forms bounce and react like the real thing.

Don't be sorry, Wenda. That is just the info I was seeking! Not to say I'm going to us 3M Super77, but did want such info as this... So, no problems, huh? Ok, thinking this might be something to CAUSTIOUSLY try someday... What do you use to remove it from the forms?

Wenda, in the thread I listed above, you say you used 3M Spray Mount Artists Adhesive, not the Super 77. Have you also used 3M Super 77, which states it does not stick to vinyl? Oops, just read the last post in that thread, where you said you tried the Super77 also. You are fortunate in that it didn't react to you, I read one other girl that had a reaction.
So, I suggest that anyone who wants to use this stuff, to try a test patch on your chest first, before trying the forms completely :)
Anyway, Robyn, read all the posts from that thread too, which I now see you posted in a lot ;)
