Hi everyone, its been a while since ive been here so i thought id post on a subject that tears at me every spring/summer. of course with all the warm weather most people like to wear less clothes, as my male side i work in jeans, t-shirts boots, but in my spare time i like to be somewhat of a athletic weekend warrior, eg. softball, volleyball swimming, but the last few years ive be withdrawn from such activities because of my noticable lack of body hair, and at this time of year i have to decide to shave or not to shave, all the cookouts and parties are coming and i always have to be the only one there in long pants in 80+ degree weather, and i get into this dilmma where i tell myself this will be the last week i dress, but wind up shaving anyway a month later and in most cases spend the summer indoors isolated from all the things i want to do,(except for the dressing) are there any others out there in this situation? who would rather dress at home alone than have a social life?

I just dont wear shorts when in male mode. I shave every other day and I have for years. Thats never had an impact on my male life.

I don't shave all over regularly, but just when I feel like it. Oddly, my mostly unaccepting wife is quite happy about this. She likes me hairless in drab mode.
My point is that I've never tried to conceal my hairless chest/legs even though I do various activities such as swimming, running cycling etc. For some reason nobody has ever confronted me about this. If they did, then I would simply tell them..."I like it that way." I suspect that it is just us CD-ers and ones close to us who associate all-over shaving with crossdressing. Most people will never make the connection because they never think about these issues.

As was proved in one of the Uk big brother Shows, one of the contestant's (Tim) was filmed in the bedroom shaving his chest in private (yet he was not a crossdresser) some people just don't like it, myself included. if there was a switch on the side of my neck, marked Hair on, and Hair off, mine would perminantly be in the off position, not because I am a crossdresser, just I hate body hair (if I wanted to be a gorilla, I'd swing from the trees and eat bannanas)
Sadly I am quite hairy, but when i have shaved people rarely noticed, and on the very few odd times someone has commented I've told them strieght, I hate body hair, I'm not a gorrilla, so I've removed it. Adding it's far more comfortable, certainly if your sweaty, I don't get blocked and sore pours, or spots, and most of all I feel more comfortable with it removed. ie I don't need body hair to be a man!!!
Male body hair is a choice, just like a girl has dark hair and then dyes it blonde, shaving is a choice too. I've never had anyone say oh you have no body hair, your a crossdresser, it just doesn't happen, but if someone notices and you just say yep, I prefer it like this, normally thats the end of it. ie your life, your choice.
However I still wish we had that switch! But just imagine how much of a problem it would really be, if the men didn't have body hair, and the ladies had hairy chest, yep right, they would be shaving it every day too :D :D but if they didn't wouldn't crossdressing be a nightmare!!!

I shave my legs and I wear shorts in public and no one has ever said anything. I live in "redneckville" itself and even work in shorts sometimes. I am an electrical contractor and if jobs I have for a day are where feasible wear shorts. Only comments were from one of my good looking female customers who is a beautician and she told me how good my legs looked with the dark tan. She did not say anything about them being shaved though.

Yes, male body shaving is currently all the rage here in the UK. There are several body shaving gadgets around that are marketed specifically for men. They are generally called "men's bodygroomers". Here's one:

BTW, I would add a second function to that neck switch....one to eliminate my Roman Tonsure. With my current male hairstyle I would make a great extra in a medieval monastery.:(

That's why wigs were made, they didn't design them for women, but made them for us crossdressers.

:D :D :D
I'm fortunate to be thin haired, my hair itself is just thin (Not thinning, just thin) - but that comes with being blonde.
Couple years ago after I first started shaving I wore shorts and I was REALLY self-conscious about it.
I had lunch with my mom and I know she looked but she never said anything.
Besides, once tan - I think you'll find as said, a lot of women like that! (Unless they like gorillas)......
I like the confidence I am seeing, I'll be wearing shorts a lot more this summer!! (Just not my short shorts in public)......

I think Tracy and Lilith are correct when they say few people will notice and fewer will care. Saying "and that's the way I like it", ends most questions. It's really none of their business, right?

I live in a university community and most of the kids, both M&F, shave thier legs. It's no big deal around here. I too have a macho type job and wear fairly short shorts mainly to stay cooler. If you like thoes long bagys you may as well wear jeans. It's never been an issue with co-workers or customers.

I go out anyway. They looked at me and said, Wow! whats up with the smooth skin, I replied, well, last summer you all teased me about looking like a cave man, so which way do you want it, hairless people?
Except for my best friend, he always comes to my defense and says something to support me. God I love him.

Yep, I wear long pants and sleeves in the Summer since I'm always shaved. Small price to pay for being who I am I figure. Besides temperature extremes don't bother me one way or the other. Ericka

I've had my arms shaved for years and no one has noticed or at least commented on it. So I thought this year I would keep my legs shaved all summer also. I have not noticed any strange looks or anything yet and if someone does ask I'll tell them I don't like the neanderthal look of hair and besides that my legs are a lot cooler.
Oh BTW, stubble will be more noticable than shaved legs so be sure to keep those legs smoooooooth.
Hugs
