How popular are women's fashion / interest magazines amongst crossdressers?

I was browsing the selection in a store this morning and almost purchased one, but I've put it off to next week. So what magazine do you buy and why that particular one?

What topics do you look for in a women's magazine? The latest trends for girls? Fashions? Makeup tips or the latest hairstyles? What about Womens issues such as fitness or the party scene? Maybe you're into the series of 'surveys' they take on women's views of sex?

To me, some of the mags are full of advertising or have articles that are 'sponsored' by Revlon and the like. I think it will take a few purchases of several mag editions before I find one that suits my tastes!

I buy In-Style every month and Glamour every so often. Mainly looking at clothing, accesories and makeup.

First and foremost, as a guy, I always enjoy looking at the beautiful women inside. On the practical level as a CDer, any makeup tips are greatly appreciated, especially eyeliner as doing that correctly has evolved into something like the search for the Holy Grail or something. My wife used to take Redbook that Ienjoyed alot but she cancelled her subscription so there is no particular one that comes to mind, just whatever she has around.

It does not matter what Mag you buy. e.g. Fasion, computer, car or home and garden, the ADS will be there. A fact of life unfortunately

Not as popular as I'd thought they'd be.

[b]Magazines[/b} Plural. :-)

Marie Claire, best general "fashion and general interest" magazine. IMHO. Not as many sily sex articles as Glamour and Cosmo.

Bitch, feminist responsee to pop culture, only comes out 4 times a year.

Lucky, the magazine of shopping. For info on new products and "it" looks.

Allure, what I think of as the makeupista magazine. A must read for us AFers.

Enjoy your search.

I used to subscribe to a few, now its down to just Harpers Bazaar and W.

I will pick up Lucky, Jane and In Style now and then and sometimes The UK edition of Glamour.

While not fashion mags, I also pick up Bust and Girlfriends every so often.

I won't even get into the geek mags... :)

Donna

I search the ads in women's (I confess to fretting over where that apostrophe belongs) magazines for brow-shaping ideas, lipstick colors, stuff like that.

I tend to read the fashion part of the Guardian's Weekend suppliment. I look in there, and at first think: Oh good Lord! ... but then I can soon see the latest fashions invading the shops, in a much watered down version. :)

I enjoy Cosmo and Glamour. Sometimes they have a makeup tip I can use and much of their content is as raunchy and sexy as any men's magazine.

Hi

For me - I like New Idea, Woman's Day from the 80s. They had nice ads for women's clothes from store like K-Mart. Even TV Week had nice ads for women's clothes too!

I have some scanned to my HDD (see pic).

I also used to love reading my Mums' magazines such as "Woman". "Woman's Own", "Woman's Realm" etc as these had many informative articles in the "Problems Page" from where I first read about Transvestites and a sympathetic reply too considering this was in 1965. The "Doctor" pages were also very helpful in understanding sexual matters and female physiology. As well as that of course there were the pictures and adverts often showing bras and panties. I also prefered to read my sister's comics such as "Bunty" and "Judy" when I was a kid rather than Boys' comics such as "Rover" , "Hotspur" or "Eagle". There was a weekly story in one of Anne's comics called "The Four Marys" about a Girls Public School and I wished I could have been one of the characters in the story and I found this a lot more interesting than the exploits of Football Teams such as "Roy of the Rovers" or gung-ho Royal Marine soldiers etc as was typical of the Boys' Comics of the time.

My faves are Cosmopolitan and Vogue but I never buy them. I either read them in waiting rooms or stand in the newsagents and read them. I find the women/clothes portrayed in these mags much more beautiful and desirable than any porno mag.

Okay, I'll admit it finally. I subscribe to Redbook, Cosmo and Marie Claire. Proof that you can take the guy out of the dress(sometimes) but can't take the woman out of the guy for long. Ericka

I like, I think it's called "Self", much more health oriented. Other than that no ... well love the Mervyn's ads in the Sunday paper.
