I had a wonderful experience this morning. I was watching my children give their mother the gifts they had bought and the cards they had made for her.

Each one of them had drawn a picture of the family, and in each case, and totally unprompted, they drew me as female. I've attached a scan of my 9 year old daughter's and 5 year old son's drawings. I'm second from the left in each of them, and the "I love to shop" slogan in my daughter's drawing is just so apt :)

It was a special moment, as they had never done that before. Talk about a first you would want to experience.

It also served to lift my spirits a lot, as my divorce was finalised on Friday and I'll never be a Mom.

Children's honesty is just so amazing!

Natasha, thanks for sharing such beautiful drawings!! How awesome for you!!
I'm thinking a MOM is a nurturing, parental, caregiver, so, it looks like your children gave you that respect, totally!!

Enjoy!!
