I'm probably alone here (perhaps not), but lately I've been thinking of ways of transforming into female attire instantly (think magic show). stuff like wearing a dress underneath a male breakaway suit on top, and then pulling some invisible wires makes it tear apart and fall off.. Shoes that tranform from mens dress shoes to female pumps (leather transforms through internal mechanisms, heel raises up by telescoping heel and springs). I don't think I've ever seen this done in any form (closest thing to it is the scene in beetlejuice where he points his finger at aldo like a gun, and his black suit rips away and reveals an ugly blue one). The idea of an instant transformation interests me.. very fictionmania-ish, cept in real life.

As a stage act it would be cute and people would love it BTW. Either way! Starting out like at a bus stop scene a Woman waiting for a bus reading a paper. Along comes a few kids that attack Her and She turns out to be a Male Cop in Drag. But the first scene could be this real cute woman in a very cute outfit then raises a news paper. Then the Bus drives by. But unknown by the audience it was a switch to the guy in the same dress etc. again behind a news paper. Then the kids show up and try to attack her for Her purse. Now the wig comes off and the top gets torn and you see it's a guy wearing a say bra with what is left of a woman’s attire still hanging onto a purse. Oh and the next scene shows the kids in a court room with the cute woman not the male as the Police Man. That way your audience gets the idea again that the cute Girl is actually the Male cop in drag. You could even have the atorney for the kids making eyes at Her/ Him. This could be way more Convoluted...LOLOLOLOL:eek:
Gawd, I can imagine the laughter over that comedy clip.
Oh, as to your idea of telescopic shoes. Hmm that could work. It would be like those tenis shoes with the built in pump. Or maybe a clapper switch built into the flats that activates the Heels. Then you hear this Air pump like one of those little cheap 12 volt ones You use in the cigarette lighter running. Now you look at the same person walking away in these sparkling High Heels with a little glint of sunlight flashing off them with every step. You know who could make this happen, the Myth Busters....
Gawd, I have been around Television Station work to long.:D
Ok, lets see on your list was tear away clothing. Hmm, been done. No big thing.
The wig is the hard part. If only they had a Mans wig that you could pull a couple pins out of the hair and maybe a long Pony Tail would drop down.
Hmmm, Yeah only on Television I think. LOL
You have a great Day. Great Thred!

I think it's done more often than we're aware. In movies, on stage etc. a "man" fairly often takes off his hat, shakes out her hair, removes his jacket and smiles and voila the woman is there. Less frequently, a man disguised as a woman, after eluding pursuers or whatever, will unbutton her coat, take off her dress and wig, roll down his pants and shirt sleeves and voila the man is revealed. It usually occurs in the context of spying, pursuit etc.
These are interesting because it's the "real body" that is revealed. You may be thinking of something quite the opposite, where it's the "inner body" that's revealed. A biological male dressed as a male, slips out of his clothes much like the biological female described above and reveals herself en femme and vice versa. I think that's rarer, but I suspect it's occurred that way especially in comedies, etc.
I'm not sure about the telescoping heels, but one can imagine "air bags" so to speak that can be caused to inflate emphasizing certain parts of the anatomy depending on which way it's going. Of course in shows like "Matrix" etc. it's easy to imagine. But all that paraphernalia isn't really required - most of us can feel like a woman or a man with much less than all that!

I'm sure many TV's also use a quick change routine when going public, ie baggy clothes over your female ones. not really instant, but it happens

There certainly are times when I could go for an instant transformation. Especially when I'm feeling lazy or tired or have limited time. But more often than not, I really enjoy the process. The makeup, hair, picking out what to wear. It all feels very girlish.
Hugs,
Melissa:)

i know i've seen this in movies, but I guess what I'm saying is that it would be cool to buy stuff like this (guess I'll have to make my own).
hair: yes, only way I'm thinking is to have long hair in a ponytail, and the holder splits up, and then maybe a high powered fan spreads the hair out.. that or maybe hair tucked underneath a baseball cap.
makeup: permanent makeup or "12 hour" makeup covered with concealer, and then have a rag soaked in baby oil wipe it off, revealing the makeup underneath. For the eyes, maybe you could just be wearing dark sunglasses, and everyone assumes you look normal by the rest of the clothing, and then you whip them off, revealing eyeshadow, eyeliner, and dark long lashes.
shoes: I was also thinking about wearing heels, and then covering them up on top with slippers that look like shoes, and they tear away.
stockings: attach clear vinyl strip to the top (stockings would be tucked away in shoes), and then clear lines would pull them up (probably a pair of tiny motors that wind them up like a winch).
earrings: you know those hair things where they lay flat, and then if you slap them on your wrist, they bend up and curl.. Was thinking maybe you had flat earrings attached to the back of your earlobes (can't see them), then you flick them with your finger and they curl around the ear, looking like hoop earrings.
long nails: this would be really tricky. Would have to have 2 really thin layers of nail with a thicker one sandwiched in between, and have them pop out somehow.
although fun at home, imagine going to a party or something and changing in a matter of 10 seconds.. maybe going into a public restroom (mens), pass by a guy at a standup urinal, go into a stall, pop out as a woman 10 seconds later, smile at his confused expression.

I've certainly done that. Dress as far as poss en-femme, then a large overcoat and a quick dash to the car...a short drive...then a glorious feeling of freedom as the wig and heels go on and the coat comes off. Yay :D

Ok, so I came up with this today (being an engineer has it's advantages). Each half of this "hinge" is about 1/2" long by 1/4" wide.
http://static.flickr.com/54/149002424_f2f69ee908.jpg
So basically what you have here is two pieces that hold the two halves together (pants split in half, shirt split in half). fishing wire could be fed through these hinge pieces (which are sewn to the clothing), and then a little nub at the end (and there would be a little washer at the end as shown in the picture) where as you walk it would all stay together, but with a little tug, the nub would force itself through the flexible fingers. Just for the heck of it, I grabbed a pair of pants I was throwing out (grew out of them), split them up, and tried to see if just threading string through the material would work, but I found that the string just kept getting tangled and knotted..
Now your probably saying "ok, this will never work. How are you possibly going to create such tiny parts?". well, I just so happen to work at a place that has a prototyping machine (that model was created in pro/engineer), and I can literally send parts like you would send a print to a laserjet. My only stipulation is that I'd have to either run it with other parts, or run it while certain people are on vacation. The parts that come out wouldn't be very strong (and would probably break), but it would at least let me test it out (which is what I do at my job), and if this worked out, it's actually not terribly expensive to create a short run tool (if there was a market for it, selling the parts could pay for the tool too). Just thought I'd give you an update.

Since I have many ideas floating in my head (and probably too long to post in a thread), I quickly created an account on google and made a website on there:
