How many of you have pierced ears? I really want to pierce my ears so I can wear earrings other than the clip-ons that I have. They hurt my ears. Have any of you done your own piercing?

Love:hugs:

Have had my left one pierced for 20 years. It's about time i need to do the right one too.
As for self piercing, saw a lot of people that did, and got some infections. Had to take them out, and have someone that does it for a living to do it right.

No, Please go see a professional (not a piercing pagoda).
They care about how/what they do, as well as use sterilized equipment.
Yes: I have both of mine done and love it, wife & I share earings.......:)

I'm 63 and got both mine done last year without any problems at all, and nobody took any notice at all. The only comment I've had was from my son in law who asked "Why". I just said "Cos I wanted to". I've never regreted it for one instant and love my dangly ones.

Don't do your own. And no need to be embarassed. Lots of men have bothe ears pierced. professional atheletes, business men.

See a professioal..it's not expensive either.

Got them both done a few years ago. I hated the selection of clip on earrings. Keep in mind that when you get your ears pierced you need to leave the studs in for a while (6 months as I recall, 24 hours a day). What I did was get the studs with the smallest gold ball that they had. It's hardly noticable when they're in place. I figured that way I can just leave them in during a situation when otherwise I wouldn't want them in (i.e., work). I never recieved a negative comment in regards to them.

Just go have it done by a pro. It's no big deal. Just don't do it yourself.

Hi Gwen by all means if you buy earings there they do it for free it's quick and painless. Read my thread " Honey Dougnuts Have Holes!" I had both mine done and she hit the roof over it LOL. :D Brought up the subject the other day and she got her hackels :Angry3: up again LOL. :D

I have two piercings in each ear. Best thing I ever did! Oh, and get a professional to do the piercings - it's not that expensive.

I had my ears pierced for a few years, like from age 16 till college. Got them pierced at the mall while I was out en femme. No one really said anything when I was in male mode as I sometimes wore an earring in my left ear anyway. I was kind of a long-haired freak as a boy in H.S. anyway... That was a long time ago though and I haven't worn anything other than clip-on earrings since then...

I have both ears pierced, and am so glad I did it! My biggest fear was getting flak from people, but so far no one has said anything negative about me (as a guy) having both ears pierced... As long as whatever ear rings you wear as a guy are conservative - no one will give a damn.

I did my own left ear waaaay back in about 1970 as an innocent 'Sweet 16' year old (who didn't even really know I was a C/D). A GG in my English class gave me a self-piercing earring, not thinking I'd really go through with it. Well... when I came to school the next day, I was the only non-GG in the whole school with a pierced ear. I was the "talk of the town" for a while - then one-by-one, a few of the other long-haired rock star wannabe's began showing up with pierced ears.... Guess that makes me something of a trend setter, huh?

I finally got around to doing my right ear about 10 or 12 years ago. At that time it still wasn't all that common to see a guy with both ears pierced, but by then I was comfy with the knowledge that I was different than 'ordinary' people, and that having both ears pierced was quite normal for a GRRL like me....

If you've been sitting on the fence about 'doing it', don't hesitate any longer. You'll be glad you did it!

I had both of my ears pierced about 2 years ago and have worn earring almost every day since. As a guy, I alternate between dressing preppy and sporty. I felt that getting studs in both ears might look odd to my friends and co-workers, but I really wanted to wear real earrings when dressed so I said the heck with it and got it done a local hair salon.
Best crossdressing decision I ever made. Nobody made any big deal out of it, and for those that did ask "why", I just said cause I wanted to, and that seemed to satisfy them.

Don't do it yourself though. Definitely go to a shop or boutique.

This will sound like a stupid question: when you talk about going to a professional, what do you mean? One of the girls at the earring place? A cosmetic surgeon? A dermatologist? A professional beautician?

Probably a theoretical inquiry on my part b/c my wife would have a triple brain aneurysm if I did it. But just wondering...

I had 3 earrings pierced at an jewelry store 20 years ago. I was a well known womenizer at the time and no one said anything about it, except a few compliments from women. Once in an airport a stranger stopped me and warned me that one of them had come loose and I was about to lose it. Another time an old woman storekeeper told me she wished her husband would do it.

Other than that no one ever says a thing or even seems to notice (although I do hope it bothers the Republicans I run into).

Had mine pierced last year. My wife was against it for the longest, and one day walking past Claire's in the mall she decided it was ok. Took about 9 weeks for them to heal properly, instead of the 6 weeks they say is normal. You have to keep the starters in the whole time. You'll know if they are healed proper when you have no problem reinserting them after taking them off.

Good luck Ava. I suggest taking your wife along, however. She can make sure they mark both ears evenly. Centered in the lobe.

One of the girls at the earring place is good Erica. Claire's (or Icing at Claire's) is where most go.

An alternative professional place to get your ears pierced is a tatto establishment that also does body piercings. Most will charge a modest fee but are state licensed in most cases and follow a rigorous sanitary routinue.

Avoid doing things you can blame yourself after, like piercing your ears and getting an infection, it will be less than beautiful. For a small fee get them done by a professional, at the same time you get a hair cut for example. For the pain relative to clip-ons, it reminds me when my SO said: "you want to be a woman" and then clipped to earrings so hard, my ears went to balloons bringing me with them up the sky. One week later i had both ears pierced and it's a piece of my femme side that is always exposed, i really like it. When i am stressed, i simply touch my earrings to feel a sensation of relaxation.

Had mine done at a mall kiosk a couple years ago. She did a beautiful job, and now I am considering getting a second piercing a little higher on both ears. My SO was a little tense for a couple days, but she helped with the sterilization procedure, and later had a custom made set of studs for my birthday, a gold star with a diamond in the center. I wear them all the time except when I wear my football danglers, or when Jillian wears her chandelier cascading gold ones.

I've had my left one pierced since I was 16. I wore just one small gold stud for quite a few years, then for another significant length of time I took it out and had nothing. Then in my mid 30's I decided to start wearing a small hoop in my left ear and not only that but I thought I'd get the other one done too. It was one of the best things I've ever done :)

Today, I don't wear earrings to work, and only once did one woman co-worker ever comment that she could see that I have "holes" in both of my lobes. However out of work I always wear both earrings. Sometimes just plain gold studs, other times colored diamante studs and occationally small sleeper hoops, all in girly guy mode. When en femme.....the sky's the limit! :D

Yep, same here and used to dress a large percentage of the time and had both ears pierced when I was younger... and I've always been a conservative...

Isn't it funny how crossdressers come in all shapes, sizes and political leanings! :hugs:

I live in a pretty conservative community and have had no negative comments about my multiple ear piercings- -five in each ear. On a positive note a lot of women think it's sexy.

I don't have mine done, nor do I wish to. I'm not worried by the pain!

when dressed I can use, buy and have available a selection of clip on ear rings, that I can see no point in doing this. RG wear clip ons as well, so I see no need to have mine done.

Just my view!

I had both my ears done years ago. I wear diamond studs, 1 in each ear in public all the time.
