I have been letting my hair grow so that I can avoid using wigs. It has been months since I had it cut, and now it is down to my shoulders and getting a little out of hand. Today I took the plunge! I called my former haircutter - Cathy - to make an appointment, to learn that she has retired. Now what?
The woman on the phone was a Suzzanne, who I never met. After I learned that she is a haircutter too, I asked her if it was possible for her to give me a 'unisex' cut that I could wear en drab, and also in a skirt. She said, "Come on in!" So I will meet her next Friday and take the plunge! I have a very important meeting in August where I will be on a stage in front of a couple thousand people who have only seen me in a military style haircut and full beard and moustache. Now I will be clean shaven, with the unisex long hair, and dangly earrings. So I want the hair to be right! I expect it will need a trim just before the meeting. I have to admit I really like going out en femme with my real hair. (In my avatar I am in a wig.)

Good for you!
I started letting mine grow about 4 years ago. I love it! It's taken my a long time to begin to style it vatious ways and learn how to take care of it. It's fun being able to use all kinds of hair accessories and play dress up.
It's important to cet it cut, if only a little tiny bit, every 6-8 weeks or so. It helps keep the slit ends for getting worse and helps keeping your hair healthy.
Have fun

Love,
Rikki

I just had mine cut about 2 weeks ago. I told the lady to leave the length alone and just trim the front so it would stay out of my eyes. She went ahead and layered it for me. I've since ditched the wigs to the back of the closet. Mine is down to my shoulders on the back and past my ears but it's kinda wavy and frizzy at times so it looks a bit shorter than it is.

Good for you! I suspect you'll love it.

I've never done the wig thing and now have a unisex / girly hair as well (see my profile pic) and I love it.

Have fun getting couffed!
