The barmaid in a pub I drink in once told me that when her cousin trained in beauty/make-up she used to practice painting her son's nails.

A waitress I used to work with told me that after an argument with a guy who was her boyfriend at the time, she made him sit in front of her and put full make-up on his face.

Just wondering, was anyone here ever taken to the make-up counter/shop as a kid with their mother?

In Debenhams today, I saw a woman at the make-up counter and a boy of about 10, who I assume was her son was helping her choose lipstick.

That would have been nice. My sister was born when I was nine and after that my mother didn't want anythng more to do with me. But I fooled her, I went to the widow lady that lived next door.
She thought I was just the cutest little thing.
She would help me dress up and would make sure I had my lipstick on right. It was at her place that I first shaved my legs when I was 12. That was in the late 50's and early 60's.
She would most likely go to jail now.
