I was just wondering if any of you girls wear flats, as I don't wear heels all the time and find flats easier to slip into!

I'm 6'3" so I prefer flats as long as they are stylish and feminine. A little kitten heel is nice too.

I have a single pair of (the mandatory) plain black pumps, a couple of pairs of raised-heel loafers, a pair of white kitten-heel thong slides, and a pair of quarter-strap black sandals. All are 2" or less, and broad heeled--except for the kitten heels, of course. Beyond that, everything is flat--loafers, Mary Janes, saddle shoes, and skimmer flats. (I'm 5'9".) When I want something higher I "borrow" from my SO, who's 5'10 1/2" and partial to 3 1/2" pumps and sandals. I definitely don't do well in them and use hers only when I don't have to walk anywhere. (SO snickers at my "spike heel wobble.") SO has a rule: My heels have to be lower than hers--unless she's in flats too of course--so I have lots of occasions to wear flats, even if not always by choice.

Never have worn flats, doubt I ever will. Probably will regret it though as going up and down the stairs in this house is really getting to me in these heels!

No flats; three inch heels all the time. Pencil skirts need heels (unless it's a denim skirt with trainers, but unfortunately I can't carry that look off).

I have many pairs of heels 3.5 to 5 in. One pair of flats (blk patent). After i wear 4-5" heels it is hard to walk for me in the lower heels. I do wear 2 in heels in everyday wear. I love them. Melissa Ann

I have a really cute pair of pink strappy sandals, low heel, almost flat. My toenails are painted pink too! And I have a pink chevron striped skirt and a pink girly t that tops the outfit off!

I'm 6'4", 245 lbs, 58 yo and only wear flats. I attract enough attention without having to be 3-5 inches taller. I've gotten all of mine at Payless and they are very feminine especially with hose (especially open-toed sandals with painted nails!). Many of their 12W fit me just right and they are quite reasonably priced. BTW, I wear a size 11 1/2 mens. Ta-ta!

Aww I hate flats they are so bad just when you think you going good you get one. I just hate that especially when my tires are new, flats who needs them. Oh their not talking about tires? Shoes you say OH ! " NEVER MIND" !

Exclusively flats here. MJs, saddles, sneakers. I just received several pair of wonderful double T-strap shoes (red, black and brown) (http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?&TLC=Womens&SLC=WomensCasuals&BLC=WomensCasualsClassic&Width=Wide&ItemCode=34814&LotNumber=031747&DescriptiveColor=Red) from Payless.com online. They ship for free to the store closest to you...

I do love my heels but when, I go out in public, I wear flats, being 6'2", I don't need to add anymore height to myself. Zappos does have a big selection.

I am 5'3", so I wear heels as much as I can. But sometimes, your outfit calls for flats - so I have a few of those. I like them; they are comfortable.
But I prefer my heels!

There are times I do dress down to blend, I'm 6' tall enought without heels, and who, other than a CD, goes out grocery shopping in pencil skirt or mini and heels.

I prefer kitten heels, 1-1 1/2 inch. I think they give me a better feel for the walk. At 6 ft. though, I do have a few sandals and flats. They are much better for walking any distance. I also have one pair of sneakers, pink of course!

The only flats I have are ones that I can get away with in guy mode. I have two cute pairs of flip flops - one with a little bling on them, and one pink pair with lobsters on them. I have worn both in guy mode. The other flatish shoes I have are loafers that I wear to work all the time.

I have a couple pair of High Heels but most are not more then an inch or so and most of those are flat. When you are as big and old as I am anything too high could be hazardous to your health.

I have a couple pairs of black flats that I wear to casual get togethers. I also wear them with jeans, instead of sneakers, for grocery shopping and running errands.

OMG! I am sooo happy to find that web site for Payless Shoes. The local store has a pretty slim selection in larger sizes. I just came home from there with the only two pairs I would consider wearing.
And at 5'11", I would not consider wearing heels although I do love the way they look.

Lovies,

Yeah, they usually have a vastly better selection of larger and even wide sizes on their website.

Flats, you bet. I have a large number of heels, most in the 1-1/2" to 2" range, but also several pair of flats. My favorite are a bright red pair and a navy pair. I'm 5'10", too tall to wear heels of much height. In flats, my height already makes me in the 95% of the tallest women in the nation. So I never get 3" or higher heels, even though I think they are really beautiful. Besides height, I'm also older. Got to watch my step a little!

Take care!

Hugs,
Gwen

Do flat sandals count? :) I have a few pair, I prefer heels, but sometimes a pair of flats just go better with a jean skirt....

I have a few pair of flip-flops that I like to wear, and I just bought a pair of pointy toe flats. The pointy flats look really cool with a mid-calf lenght summer skirt.

I'm one of the lucky women that is on the short side, only 5'5". I have something over 50 pairs of heels and no flats anymore. It's heels for me every day.

At 5'10" I rarely wear heels when I'm out, those extra few inches make passing a lot more difficult. Payless has a great $10 pair of black skimmer flats, and I recently bought a pair of ballerina flats there that are perfect for summer skirts and capris.

I wear flats more often than heels, thanks to a bad back. I also think that flats go great with the more casual skirts that I have as well as capris.

Mostly I wear high heels - but sometimes I wear flats too, I prefer the ballerina-style, have them in different colours, and I think they looks great and they are comfortable.

I usually wear flats or flatish round the place. Easier doing the dusting and ironing etc. Sometime, if I am feeling devilish, I might do things in heals. But flats are also much better for driving in. I wouldn't try to drive in the heals I have.:nono: I value my, and others, health much to much

I like to wear flats as well while wearing slacks. Any other of my shoes go up to 2 inch pumps.

At present flats are very much the in thing so I have been very naughty and been buying lots of them, But on the plus side they are so comfortable and the lastest styles are very fem.

I wear ballet slippers most all the time when out. Heels, only for pictures and outings to clubs (and I usually end up in slippers before the night is over). My favorite public femme dress mode is slightly femme tops, women's jeans, and ballet slippers. Always try and match the colors of the slippers to the tops. :cute:

Wear do you get those lovely ballet pumps from?

With my height, flats seems to be a certain no no!

Kidding!!! To be honest, I just don't feel the part in flats. If it doesn't have a heel it doesn't feel right. I did try it once and found myself walking in an exaggerated fashion. With 3" heels on the other hand, the walk is natural and effortless! So I seriously doubt that I'd ever wear flats out of choice.

Sonia.

I prefer kitten heels, 1-1 1/2 inch. I think they give me a better feel for the walk.

Yes, the walk is the key! We gurls need a little heel to wiggle more naturally. We can't walk naturally like ladies do. I should say classy ladies, since some girls today walk like Wild West cowboys. In any case, the higher the heel, the easier to shorten your step and wiggle in a feminine way, but assuming that most of us are tall already (I'm 5-10) plus wearing high heels for long hours is tiresome, a 2" heel should be a nice balance between comfort and elegance.

I personally can't walk right wearing flats. I tend to lenghten my step and before you know it you look like the quintessential "guy in a skirt".

The previous post by Sky is correct. "The walk is the thing." I can't walk in heels. I have a pair of heels I wear around the house occasionally for practice, I'm incredibly clumsy in heels. Until I get the walk right it's flats for this girl.

I dearly love heels, but I am 6' 2" so flats fit my size better. But I do love my heels!!!

Excluding clogs which are really unisex, I have only one pair of women's shoes and they are essentially flat (~ 1/2" heel). This is OK as I have an arthritic ankle that doesn't allow me to wear over about an 1 1/2" heel anyway.

However, the irony is this: the pair of flats that I have used to belong to my ex-wife. She forgot them when she moved out, along with 2 wigs and a handbag. If she only knew...

I like wearing flats that are a little more sexy and feminine than flip flops. I wear either the silver or gold thongs in the picture.

Because I am pretty tall (6'0"), I seldom wear really high heels. I usually go with an inch heel or flats--both are much more comfortable for me and don't make me feel quite to tall.

I like flts a lot. I guess I have 5 or 6 pairs, some of them worn out (that is need replacing and also in public).

I also like my 2" Capezio pumps that were intended to be used a tap shoes. Mine aren't so used.

Hi, Being 6foot 4 in bare feet wearing flats makes sense if you don't won't to enhance your height. Here in Melbourne Australia wearing thongs (flip flops) whatever you call them in the USA are still popular even though it's now winter here. Girls wear them with jeans and skirt outfits and they look really cute.

Being tall is a great excuse for me to wear flats! I am 6' and wearing heels makes me tower over everyone. wearing stylish flats makes me normal!!

I'm 5'11" so it's mostly flats for me. I like sandals and slides in the summer too. The couple pair of heels I have are probably 2 1/2". And of course I have one pair of 5" heels for "play".

I have three pair of flats. It's good to get out of those heels for a while. I work from home , so I wear flats or sandals while I'm working. Heels are great, but after 8 hours my tootsies really start hurting.

I have a couple of pairs of flats or low heels, one of which is pictured below. Not very flat but lower than my normal 4inch heels. As I am 5ft 10inch I can just about get away with a high heel, but do like the lower heel as well.
