Women are chosen to reproduce because they fit a set of contemporary standards for attractiveness. ...exceptions of course. Nevertheless, the current American shapely woman with attractive hair, long shapely legs and attractive ankles and feet is what is being genetically reproduced in this region. Of course, Europe is similar. The male characteristics that are progenerated are not those that we of our persuasion would really desire; strength, bulkyness, muscular, hairy, and large feet!
Now we TV/TS folks are not doing much to progenerate a species.... Many of us do not even marry, others are gay, and the base notions to progenerate our TV/CD/TS species a do not seem to drive our search for partners. And so we must be a temporary social/sexual aberration - except for those who infact are of mixed sexual characteristics. But even they are not (probably?) unconciously driven by the need to reproduce their type.
Not a sociologist, I really don't understand what I am saying here, but it is an interesting series of notions.

I Came Accross A Theory That States By The Year 3000 There Won't Be A Gender And Some Scientist Believe That Crossdressing Or Transvestism Is Just One Of The Signs The Other Being The Increase In Babies Being Born With Both Sets Of Genitailier......if This Is The Case The Are We In For Some Surprises.....

As we are neither plants nor animals there is no rearing or a real selection for humans. Therefore it is kind of pointless to consider these mechanisms.
If the "aberations" would be temporary or are effected by "selection", they would have died out thousands of years ago.

If the need to be cd/ts/tg was purely genetically driven, there might be a point in examining the genetic drivers (which, I will point out, are not known) and demographic trends to see whether we are at risk of being "bred out". On the other hand, historical and biblical evidence shows plenty of evidence of at least crossdressing going back for centuries, and yet we are still here. Which suggests that either (1) it's not genetic or at least not entirely genetic or (2) the genetic aspects are tied to genes that manage to get themselves propagated.
I'd not worry about CDs becoming an endangered species due to breeding. We have plenty more to concern ourselves with, like figuring out a foolproof way to divine the location of plus size shoe sales.

Brava! This is a very important concept for which there is some evidence and which is rarely discussed. Thanks for bringing it in. Without equating ts/tg/cd with gayness, a study of an italian village fount that some 30% of gays there were later born sons of multiparous females - the suggestion was that the same gene that makes women more fertile might somehow be implicated in making some men gay. I wouldn't be surprised to find a similar situation in the case of ts/tg/cd.

Transgenderism is probably a constant variation across time, but before modern communication (like CD.com!), and a willingness of people to admit to it, it was not readily apparent. Beware Sampling Error- just because no large number of TG folks is known at any particular point in the past but we do know a larger approximate number for the present doesn't mean there are either more now or that there is a trend of increasing numbers for the future.

Not only that but since in most cases CDing has very little to do with sex, most CDers keep the line going because they are married to women who they love and have a family with, abberations notwithstanding. Ericka
