I've been living full time now for 17 months and I'm a completely different person to the one I was. I'm so much happier in myself and although I'm still quiet and shy, I've got so much more self-confidence than I ever had as a man.

As I'm typing this I've got only 347 short hours until I'm due to be wheeled down to the operating theatre to have my 'physical disability' corrected (as far as is possible). That's 14 days until admission to hospital and 15 days to my op.

I'm so happy and I'm looking forward to this more than I've ever looked forward to anything before.

Me too... I simply can't wait for that day, but I'm still 4 months away! Time goes so slowly, for you the wait must be unbearable. It always seems that the closer one is to a goal, the slower time seems to pass.

Congrats...if you chicken out let me know. I know someone who'll take your place. ;)

I can give you a 1000% assurance that I'm not going to chicken out. It's simply completing the new me as I should have been from the outset. Anyway, I paid for it nearly 12 months ago and I'm not going to loose that much money.

I'm 105 days away.

Not that I'm maintaining a countdown, or anything... ;)

You'll soon be the Kehleyr - it's amazing how quickly 100 days passes

That's great news Rachel
I find myself in a similar situation. I find myself doing things I would be too afraid to do as my male self. I have much more confidence now living as a woman. I am a bit shy too, but as a woman I lose that shyness because the real me is allowed to show itself. I am dreaming too for that day I get to correct the mistake that happened at conception in my mother's womb. Hope all goes well with the surgery.

I finished my full time job yesterday and I'm having a days holiday today. I had my name down for the driving agency but they had nothing come in so I've actually got a day off today. I have a driving job tomorrow, which will be my last pre-op day of working.

I've done some house work this morning, started packing for my time away (I'm staying with Mum and Dad immediately post-op so I need at least a month of clothes etc. I've had a chance to sit down as well today and I still not getting nervous about things, which I can't believe. I'm just really excited. I had convinced myself that I wasn't nervous because I'd been keeping myself on the go all the time, but perhaps I'm just not nervous because it's the right thing for me.

Anyway, driving tomorrow, out for the day with my B/F Sunday and then into hospital on Monday. My surgery is 08:30 Tuesday morning, so I'm still expecting a really long, sleepless night on Monday - but at least I don't have to hang around all day Tuesday waiting to be taken to theatre.

will be so rewarding for you, Rachel! Congratulations on reaching the final phase, so to speak.
I just went full time a week ago, and I know EXACTLY what you mean when you feel like you are finally YOU for the first time in your life, feeling as though you have so much more self respect and peace inside. It's amazing how much differently I interact with others now, too. No more masks, no more pretending. THIS IS ME!
Got my HRT prescription yesterday, too, so I'm bringing up the rear, but so happy to hear from girls like you who have finally made it.
LOVE AND HUGS,
Chrissy

Thanks Kitty,

Yes. Mum and Dad will be there for me. They are coming up with me and staying while I'm in hospital then bringing me home again. I am staying with them as well, until I can drive again. I'm so lucky to have such a supportive family, they have all accepted me. Mum is well into her 70's and Dad is mid 80's and they have no issues at all with me.

When you hear somebody using a persons age as an excuse for them not accepting a TS person don't believe it, it's just that - an excuse. Age doesn't come into acceptance - it's personal values, upbringing and a number of other things that dictate if somebody will have a problem with another being TS, but certainly NOT age. I'll get off my soap-box now.

I have been accepted at work to a greater or lesser extent. At a minimum people don't give me any hassle (albeit they don't like/agree with it), right through the range to some of the women fully accepting me as a woman.

I've had a really good journey and although I have had a couple of comments in the streets over the last 2 years (since I've been going out regularly) I've had a really easy time of things - the sort of experience more TS girls and boys should have.

Hi all,

Thanks for all your wishes. Things have gone very well and with no complications (which apparently is almost unheard of). I came out of hospital on the 5th July but have been staying with Mum and Dad until this morning, when I came home again.

I still have a minor weep from one of the wounds but nothing really to worry about and (as you can imagine) I'm over the moon.

I am new here and am very happy for you as well. Congrats and good luck and may god be with you now and forever.

As like some of the post it will be sometime before I could even think about going as far as you have. Although in my mind, with all the advances being made in modern medicine, I would hope that by the time I could get the nerve and money up to do what you have done, that they will have been able to add the rest of the proper anatomy thru SRS. I dont know about the rest of you but I would give just about anything to be able to, once transistioned, go thru pregnancy and childbirth. I know that it is not the most comfortable thing to do, but you know I just have this nagging incessent desire to do that. I cant explain it. I have been married and I have had children, so it cant be that, or at least I dont think it could. But for the longest of times it is all I can think about. I know I am messed up more than normal but I just had to say something.

Any congrats and godspeed.
