View Full Version : shopping trip planned for 2 weeks ....just couldn't do it!!!

Hi all, I was going shopping today to buy a new dress, maybe some shoes as well. I was planning this for 2 weeks. No work today, wait until the wife gets to work, get dressed and wait for the stores to open. Was going to wear my dress, tights and heels to the store..... 2 hours to go, sitting around waiting....Decided to read the newspaper while waiting........read a depressing blurb in the paper. The local food bank which supported 18000 people here didn't get many donations this year.

though about it for a second, got undressed, put my guy clothes on, took the money i was going to use to buy another outfit and pair of shoes and drove to the food bank and gave it to them.

Misty what a wonderful act of giving that was. Bless you love. That's what Thanksgiving truely is in my opinion. Casting aside selfishness and doing what you feel is right for those less fortunate. See you got me all emotional here.

wonderful thing you did misty.maybe you should have worn your dress,tights,heels to the foodbank, who knows how you may have been blessed.but blessed you will be.

One of my passions is the Union Rescue Mission in Seattle.

Years ago, when I tripped over someone sleeping on the sidewalk, going to a meeting , if you will, got me thinking.

That could be me if I missed a paycheck or two ( more like one)

Been supporting them ( Union Rescue Mission) ever since.

You never know who is really hurting, until you look into their eyes.
