I was pointed to this article regarding TG/TS rights in Ontario during an email exchange with the author. I think this is particularly good reading for anyone in Ontario or BC. Even if you are not from either of these Canadian provinces, it is still worth the read.

I'll leave the political commentary for discussion.

I am from one of these Canadian provinces! Thanks for the info.

I know three trans-women who have had surgery in the past few months. One paid for herself but I'm pretty sure the other two went through MSP of BC. GRS is the only surgery paid for by the gov. for MTF's and they require 2
yrs. RLE.

I'm afraid that if Citizen Stevie gets his way it wont be available at all unless we pay for it out of pocket.

Personally I have no aims at it but a lot of others do and I think that in order to keep the door open it is going to take some activism of one sort or another. I guess it is all going to come down to whether it will be considered necessary. We, and the doctors dealing with us know how important it is but convincing the politicos and their puppy dog bureaucrats is another story.

Let's keep an eye on it.

And by the way, Michelle is interested in any developments in this area so we are welcome to contact her as long as it is legal or human rights related.

i wish you all the best of luck with it.they must not understand the whole concept of being TS.they should have post-ops and pre-ops voice their opinion on the matter.i hope it goes well.

Interesting article. If i'd known the Provinces were paying for SRS, I would have moved to Canada and obtained citizanship! But then again, i'm not really TS, but you know what I mean.

Good to see issues of this nature being brought into the public's (and Government's) eyes for debate through the media.
