Hi everyone

I just received an email about lipstick that causes cancer, I don't know if its right or not but as the title stated.

The brands that are listed as containing lead are:

Christian Dor
Lancombe
Clinique
Y.S.L.
Estee Lauder
Shiseido
Red Earth
Chanel
Market America-Montes Lipstick

The higher the lead content the greater the risk of cancer.

Watch out for lipsticks that are supposed to last longer. A simple test you can do for yourself:

Put some lipstick on your hand
Use a gold ring to scratch on the lipstick
If the lipstick colour changes to black then you know the lipstick contains lead.

First , lead has never been associated with cancer. The hazard if there is one, would be cumulative lead poisoning. However the FDA would never allow such a compound to be used in lipstick.
Didn't you notice that your list of lipsticks includes only the most expensive brands?Do you believe that drugstore brands use more expensive and safer ingredients than department store and designer brands? doesn't ths set off a few alarm bells? Add this to your list of urban legends, probably started by Maybelline or a similar brand.

... and this too :) http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/lipstick.asp
I have found that about 99% of the stuff that shows up in your email inbox as "this is true, forward it to everyone" is usually not true and is just made up out of someone's imagination....

Pfffft

It only gives you cancer if you are a man. Common knowledge.

One thing I know for certain, anything you eat, drink, or breath causes cancer.0.02
Some people get it and some don't.
I worked with a man that had died of lung cancer but had never smoked in his life. No one in his family smoked and at our place of employment anybody that did smoke had to go outside to do it.

I quit smoking because of lung cancer.
I quit sunbathing because of skin cancer.
I'm going to take my chances with lip cancer.
