This subject may have gone around lots of times but I haven't found anything. Who is your favorite actress?

My all time favorite is Audrey Hepburn. She embodied pure femininity and I'll watch one of her movies anytime.

My current favorite is Meg Ryan. I really identify with her. I cry tears of joy everytime I see the end of "You've Got Mail".

How about you?

Love,
Christiane

I agree with a lot of you on this it is really hard to pin it down to one person as I have had a lot of time to see them.
I guess my first experience of a favorite would be Piper Laurie in Riverboat Gambler I think she starred with Gregory Peck I fell in love with her, then an there.
My present favorite has to be Jamie Lee Curtis she really turns me on, a lot like my SO in stature and mannerisms.

Oh my, I am bound to change my mind but I'll put something up for now.

Amelie - Kim Novak is an EXCELLENT CHOICE
Georgette - thanks for reminding us of Piper Laurie
Christiane - ah, Audrey Hepburn!

Now if someone would just write a script for Meg Ryan in which she has no speaking lines (sorry, Christiane).

Contemporary - Jamie Lee Curtis

Yes she was excellent in Leon!

In the US, they originally showed a lousy edited version which they called The Professional. It cut roughly 25 minutes from the film, and more importantly cut many critical scenes. Specifically, an early discussion of "age" between Matilda and Leon was cut. Also, all of the "work" performed by Matilda and Leon was cut.

As an aside, Luc Besson did a great job directing the film. Gary Oldman was one scary mofo, moreso when I learned who "Stansfield's" employer was. Jean Reno was great. And to reiterate, I thought Natalie Portman was excellent in her first role.

Stephanie, yes you did say Natalie Portman was excellent in Leon. :)

I have both the English version and the American version which is by the way called 'Leon the Professional', the English version is 106 minutes long whilst the American version is 134 minutes long so they might have shown you the English cut.

Can you give me a url to the correct thread? I'm sufficiently harried today that I know I'd put it in the wrong one.

MY FAVORITES ACTRESSES WHEN I WAS A KID WAS: KATEY SAGAL (MERRIED WITH CHILDREN) AND CATHERINE BACH (DUKES OF HAZZARD).
I ALWAYS LIKE THAT THESE WOMEN WEAR HIGH HEELS. SO NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT SINCE I WAS A KID I HAD A WOMAN INSIDE ME.

Wow, that's a tough one!! I have many favorites, but if I had to narrow it down I suppose I would have to say Marliene Dietrich. Beautiful & mysterious. She has a beauty that is ageless and I love her accent.

Took me some time to think about it. Catherine Bell is my first choice. She is Born 8/14/68. She doesn’t have as large of a movie resume as many actresses. I came to first appreciate her as Colonel Sarah MacKenzie in the TV series “Jag.” I like women who are smart, sexy, and can be agressive at times. She has also been in "The Time Shifters," "Friends," "Dream On," "Misery Loves Company" and "Hercules."

Movie Credits:
2003 Bruce Almighty,
1999 Thrill Seekers,
1998 Black Thunder
1998 Cab to Canada
1996 Crash Dive
1995 Men of War
1992 Death Becomes Her (Nude body double for Isabella Rossellini)

Felicity

Teri Hatcher is my second choice. She has a better resume and is currently in the TV series “Desperate Housewives.”

Movie Credits:
2001 Spy Kids
2001 Jane Doe
2001 Fever
2000 Running Mates
1998 Since You've Been Gone
1997 Tomorrow Never Dies….. Yes, She’s a “Bond Girl.”
1996 2 Days In The Valley
1996 Heaven's Prisoners
1994 The Cool Surface
1994 All Tied Up
1993 The Bouncer And The Lady
1993 Brainsmasher: A Love Story
1992 Straight Talk
1991 Soapdish
1991 Dead In The Water
1989 Tango & Cash
1989 The Big Picture

I Fell for her in her roll as Lois Lane in the 1993 series “Lois and Clark.”

She was also a San Francisco 49ers Cheerleader! Her first acting role was being a dancing and singing mermaid in the TV series “The Love Boat.”
