I am an avid golfer. Usually 27-36 holes of golf a week. However one of the bigger problems that I face is that in the humid, 90+ degree heat, I get chafing real bad in the groin area because I sweat pretty bad in my lower back area and it ends up soaking my shorts/shirt. Ironically enough, what solved it for me was the wearing of synthetic "boy-shorts" type of women's underwear. When not golfing and when drab, I always wear boxers, but to do so on the golf course would surely have me in pain after the round.

Today I was looking online at Under Armour and Nike sites at clothes (male/female) and noticed that women's underwear at Under Armour is cheaper than mens as a result of what I believe is less material. But that is exactly why I like women's underwear when golfing (I'm trying to reduce the amount of clothes I wear). I, of course, have also been looking for a somewhat unisex women's performance top that I can wear so as to be even more comfortable. Not to mention the fact that I have skirt envy of the women  and wonder when it will become fashionable for a man to be "cool." Think of the professional golf tours. The men are required to be in pants, while the women are out there sporting short skirts... Equality eh!

Bobby:

I might suggest that you try the Patagonia lightweight boxer briefs available at any backpacking store. I have found nothing that works better against chaffing. these are made for extended hiking trips. I love them, but they are not cheap.

If you were to get a close peek, you'd see those ladies are wearing "skorts".....I just created a thread in the lounge about them.

I play the occasional game of golf, I'm by no means an expert, just a typical day off or Sunday golfer with a couple of other blokes.

When getting changed in the dressing room (locker room) I will of course be wearing panties as I always do. Obviously in such circumstances I do not wear really pretty girly ones but plainer briefs (I always wear full briefs) either plain white , pale blue or black or a pair of the darker coloured cotton knickers women and girls wear for PE and Games such as Navy Blue, Bottle Green or Brown. These do not these days arouse any strange looks or suspicion on the part of any other players getting changed and in my own observations most of the other men wear briefs (more popular in the UK than boxers) which are as coloured or patterned as any I would wear and most are of the modern flyless design rather than the old fashioned Y-Fronts (jockeys).

I have found as in day to day life my panties being cotton absorb any sweat and would recommend these to you for Golf and other sports. In particular there is a design where the double layer gusset (crotch) is extended up the back to the waistband, very useful to deal with sweat in the small of the back. These used to be made by am English manufacturer in Leicester called Montfort who alas have long gone out of business but identical knickers are still being made by companies called Gymphlex and Magicfit though at UK £12 to £15 each they are expensive compared to ordinary women's briefs purchased at chain stores or over the internet.

I have never seen the appeal of Boxers to be frank, I hated the older version of these when I was a kid and simply would never wear them nowadays, or any male underpants come to that! They are too loose, give no support and look ugly and are to my mind uncomfortable compared to nice snug women's briefs. I could only see them appealing for fetishistic reasons to an F to M CD in the way that women's knickers and panties appeal to M to F CDs such as myself. A few years ago not knowing my CD proclivities, a friend gave me a pack of Boxer shorts as a Birthday present. Being polite I thanked them and found myself with 6 very good cloths to clean the car, wipe my paint brushes on and dry the bathroom floor after a shower until of course I threw what were now dirty old cloths in the bin.

I don't like skorts on women or men.

Go for one of those cute little golf skirts!!! That will cool you down......or heat things up!! hehe During the winter ice hockey season, I use under Aurmor to hide my shaven legs in the locker room....
