OPI nail polish. It has amazing staying power, and the color choices are endless.

OPI....just like vanya said!
Second choice Rimmel...if you are on the low end, they have fun summer colors.

Get some Delsol RED nail polish. It is clear indoors and turns bright Red outdoors.

If you happen to have a Sally's Beauty Supply store in your area, not sure where you are, id definately check them out...they have all kinda different colors and in great brands since thats where salons shop
Ive even bought the lil cheap bottles from places like wal mart when I want a different color and they seem to work pretty good....I buy the small cheap bottles because I normally dont wear wilder colors

OPI is good, but for my money I like China Glaze and Essie. These are professional polishes that can only be bought at the salon, sometimes at beauty supply places (or eBay :)), and unlike OPI, these are one coat polishes..... and there is no difference between nail polish and lacquer, or enamel, or varnish :)
Still, if you want really funky colors, then check out Brucci, and Loreal has some really wild new colors out too :)

Thanks, ladies, I see I should find a salon for fix. I checked out the sites on those brands and I've got something to go on for my pursuit of the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida nail polish. (It's gotta be a 1-application, I've a two-year-old running around the house.)

I've had great results with Revlon and L'Oreal.

IMHO Sally Beauty Supply Nail Pro is hard to beat. Priced reasonable, goes on nice and smooth, flows out great, dries pretty darn fast, and lasts super, and comes in a heap of various colors. (It may be Pro Nail but anyway its Sallys pro line of polish)

Yes, China Glaze is also good, and would be my second choice, as I find it wears off the edge of the tip pretty quickly. OPI does not wear off at all! My job entails handling a LOT of paper so this could be a factor. I also wear gel nails year 'round, and find that OPI allows for less frequent touch ups. So for those of you who use it only for short term dressing, China Glaze is an excellent choice!

Oh dear, nail polish... no matter how much I practice, I can never seem to keep it just on the nails... maybe I should try the OPI or other upscale brands mentioned?
But rather than to expose my basic cosmetic incompetence, the real reason I'm responding here is to ask:
1) shouldn't this be in the "Beauty Club" forum (and that's not me making a snide suggestion, I'm not in that forum so don't know what all transpires there, but seems like it would be the place)
2) why is the "Beauty Club" locked down in the first place?
Just curious...
