I need some practical ideas to get OUT, without having to spend a money on a hotel room to transition in. Having 4 kids ranging in age from 18 to 6 makes it impossible to have the house to myself or to sneak out en femme, so I'm stuck behind a locked bedroom door ( Qasimodo in the bell tower). Although my wife is informed and pretty supportive, I get the feeling she's uncomfortable with the idea of my going to a CD-friendly event/place due to fear of MY getting a little too comfortable with it.
How do the rest of you cope with this kind of thing?

Hey, all relationships benefit when both parties have some time (around town, etc.) to themselves. If couples spend every waking hour together doing the same things, soon there will be little to talk about. That said, I think the issue for you and your partner is trust - good luck.

I know several CD's that have at one time or another utilized self storage facilities to store their things in and use as a place to change in. If you rent a small unit that is air conditioned, you can set yourself up a proper place to do makeup in as well as store things and change in.
Another option, of course, is to go ahead and come out to your kids. There have been several threads recently on the pros and cons of doing that.
