I have had my nails done many times in a nail salon (in drab) and I must say it is one of life's great plaesures.

First of all, the nails tech are fantastic and they treat me with great repect. They all know me by first name and I know them all also.

My point is this.... I have had some great conversations in nail salons and actually feel some of them are friends now.

One nail tech actually invited me to go have drinks with her and 2 other girls...I did and it was wonderful. (I think she prepped them on my nails before I got there becuase they didn't say anything derogatory). They did want to look at them...which I loved. But they really didn't stare at them all night or any thing like that.

Has anyone else made friends in a nail salon while having their nails done?

I have established a real friendship with my nail tech. She has been doing my manicures and pedicures for about two years. Last month, I took her shopping with me. I was shopping in drab. We spent about 8 hours shopping. I bought her lunch. We found her some real bargains, and she wants to go again with me in the future. This young lady is 40 years younger than I and is engaged to be married, but she still enjoys my company for friendship. She is also a wealth of knowledge for me for makeup, style and accessorizing.

I have become friendly with my nail technician who runs her own shop. She has also given me a makeover and seems thrilled to see me just when I stop by to say hello. We talk quite a bit about things including my CDing.

My nail tech and I are good friends. She also does my sister's nails too. So I have to be careful what I say sometimes, as she is a gossip too LOL. I am having to get a new nail tech, since their shop is across town from where we now live. I have found a local place, but don't know the techs there yet, but working on it.
BTW, I found that the customers are more interesting. I had these four customers one time that I asked if I should get my nails buffed or polished. They all looked at my nails and in as one said "Polish". So I got clear polish on them. They asked me why I did not get color and I said "Wife may not go for color". They just nodded their heads in agreement. One did say that she wished she could get her BF to come in and get his nails done. LOL

I went to a nail salon fairly recently but it was actually as Steffie (first time) and I had a great time! :) I also got my eyebrows waxed.

The nail tecnician was nice and I even talked to one on the other customers who turned out to be a high school student who was getting her nails done for her prom.

Last year I went with my wife en-drab but didn't get my nails painted, I had more fun as Steffie though as I felt more comfortable en-femme.
