Wednesday evening was very special for Angel and me….not only was it Angel’s first time EVER dining out at a regular restaurant en femme, but we got to meet another lovely member of this forum, our own Windy Cissy.
Now, Windy lives in Chicago and we live in Northern California, so we were really excited when she told us that she was coming out our way on business and wanted to have dinner with us. We had always admired Windy and enjoyed hearing of her en femme adventures, and it seemed like the perfect time for us to venture forth from the relative safety of our city’s LGBT-friendly establishments and into the mainstream. We had been to a couple of cafes and fast food joints before, but that was during the daytime, and I did all the ordering and brought our food and drinks to the table. That is a lot less daunting than the prospect of being seated, ordering, and eating in a nice restaurant during peak dinner hours. We were a little nervous, but we both felt it was time to take this step. So I made reservations at a local Thai restaurant, where I hoped the atmosphere would be quiet enough for a relaxed conversation. I knew we would have a lot to talk about!
We met Windy outside, and we all went in together. I have to say that all the pictures I’ve seen of Windy do not do her justice. She has a very natural, genuine femininity about her that really shines through in the way she dresses, speaks, and carries herself. It was truly a pleasure spending time with her.
Our waitress, who I believe was also the restaurant owner, seated us with a smile and asked “Would you ladies like anything to drink?” From that moment on I felt much more at ease, because I could see that were going to be treated just like any other women customers. I know that Angel cherishes it when she is addressed as “ma’am” or referred to as a “lady.” I wanted to hug the waitress but thought better of it. :D
We had a long, leisurely meal, and at the end of it we took these pictures to commemorate our wonderful evening.

I even asked our waitress if she would take a picture of us together. She smiled, took the camera from me, and said, “You all look so pretty tonight!”

I can’t tell you how amazing it was to be able to go out and enjoy a pleasant evening of dining and socializing with my two gal pals. It felt totally normal, totally right, and totally comfortable. I think it’s safe to say that we’ve reached a new stage of integrating Angel’s girl self into our regular lives…..with a little help from a friend. Thanks, Windy!
