Too funny.....was walking down the stairs, leaving for lunch and as I got to the second floor I spotted an atractive woman coming through the door and starting down the stairs in front of me. And there was the distinctive sound of heels on steps, so definitally I perked up as I came around the corner.... but what I saw was not the gracelful chick gliding down the stairs but arms outstreached, wobbley ankles.....not holding on to the railing and carrying way to much stuff....(but still pretty though). hahaha Even when we hit the first floor, she still couldn't walk in those heel worth #@#!#@. Made me feel good that I can walk in heels way better than she could....I should have stopped her on the spot and given her SWI (Safe Work instructions) on using the stairways under hazerdous conditions! :)

Nice shoes too, open toed jobies, off white! And too boot, she was wearing the exact pair of gaucho pants I bought last week at Kohl's!!! BTW, they did look nice on her!!

Just thought I'd share that...made my day....... now off to Home Depot.....Wife needs a screw...I mean a bolt....I mean ....never mind :D

Thanks for sharing your experience, I have been pondering which heels to wear out tomorrow night, sure I have the safe short heels but also have some really nice higher heels, perfect for my outfit, I guess I was concerned about walking awkwardly but will practice and hopefully option for the higher heel....Melissa

You girls are so lucky, can't wear mine at the moment as my feet have swollen due to the heat.

Between your gorgeous new photos and your lightening one-liners, it seems to me you are destined to host America's next great TV talk show ...

It's funny how we "perk-up" when we see well dress attractive women. I'm often not sure what I'm more attracted to, the woman or her clothes!

Hmmmmm. Nope she was real!!

But funny you should bring that up. A friend is traveling today, in TX, on American Airlines. And yes she has a blackberry too!! :). So she thinks that the flight attendent is a TG. Or a female with a big Adams Apple! So I asked her to ask her and also try to get me one of those neat flight atendent uniforms. Size 10. Hehe. Haven't heard back yet. But then again my friend didn't get me an Army nurses uniform...some friend. Lol Just kidding, Roberta!!

It ain't the walking, it's the *&@#@ pain afterwards! My empathy for GG's just grows and grows...The early years were tight dresses and stilletto heels. Now I usually wear a casual skirt, flat sandals, and a lacey tank top. (of course I was younger and prettier then!!)

Hugs,

Well I don't know, those shoes in the avatar seem to have a bit of height to them, you want to be careful

I actually spent lunchtime watching how people walk ... yes of course I was mainly watching the GGs in heels!

I've arrived at two conclusions

1) It's really hard to see how someone walks by watching them

2) Thinking about walking just makes it more difficult

Oh and I had another idea a while ago - it was clearly a guy that invented high-heel shoes as a kind of early warning system that a nice girl was coming; the noise they make is really quite loud!

Yep!! Ya caught me!! That's realy a stunt double!! Hehe. Hmmmm or they are stunt doubles? :). And if I knew how to touch up a photo I'd airbrush out the wrinkles in my face. Lol

But I do have wimpy arms. Never bench pressed more than 130. And really don't need upper body mass to play hockey. All in the legs and thighs!! I do have a wicked wrist shot but a medeocre slapshot!!

You should have told her to practice in the heels for 4 hours everyday

Then she may get better.

I have an office that's next to a very busy corridor (next to the printer in fact), so all the time I can hear that special sound of heels approaching... (you heard them too?)

It's hard to concentrate under that circumstance you know... I'm always guessing... who's coming now? oh yes, that gorgeous blonde that's wearing the black stilettos today or... that must be the redhead in those nice boots...

Karren, my only thought is, are gaucho pants back, again?? They don't look good on anyone under 5'7", opps, I know who will be snatching them off the clearance racks a Kohl's, HEHE :heehee:

Karren, why don't you offer a "HEELS 101" at work?? LOL

Just like all shoes, heel to toe, caution, must have strong ankles, calves, and knees to wear!!

Yes, Kat, I've seen gaucho's around a lot more lately and too late...I already hit Kohl's up for a pair!! But I didn't see the height restrictions on the tag!! Darn. Missed it by 2 inches. :(

I was thinking more along the lines of inviting her to join our hockey team....build up those ankles and calves!! She'd be a refreshing change in the locker room too....tired of all those smelly, grungy looking guys!!

Wonder if the make pink gear and pads?? Or I could just do the laundry once...red shorts in with the white hockey equipment. Hehe

They do make womens Hockey Sport Shorts...the cup is a little different than the guys version...

As for listening for who's coming along the corridor ... I'd really like to be the one making the noise as opposed to listening for it ("that would be the gorgeous dark-haired CD" :D )

My spike heel slings are comfortable even with the pointed toes. You have to have comfortable shoes that are wide enough. I buy me shoes from an outfit in England named hay way shoes and they are the best heels I've ever worn. I always pay the extra money for the metal shaft spikes as they wear better and sound so wicked when I walk. My four inch spikes are really quite comfortable. I bunch up my nylons at my toes so there's plenty of stocking there and it makes them more comfortable. I love to drive in them and hot rod my car revving the engine up and rapping out the loud pipes to tease men. Men just love women who rev up their cars hard and make them scream with spike heels on. I always leave my door open and my leg out when I rev up my car so they can watch me flooring the gas pedal with spike heels on. I get so many men excited that way. I've worn heels for years and I'm used to them. So hang in there and wear your highest heels and have fun.

I love 5 inch pumps myself. A funny thing a friend of mine told me one time, "they look great but you can't curl your toes in them."

That reminds me, I need another pair, lol.

Take care,

Anything over 3 inch and I fall over. Lol. Must be all those decades of having my ankles bound in my hockey skates! Strong but not that flexible....and the shorter the foot the steeper the angle for the same size heel....so if you wear 16's with a 5 inch heel it would be comparable to a 3 inch heel in a size 10. (Its actually a 3.125 inch heel but with significant numbers and rounding error...hehe)

I know. A few years ago I went to a halloween party dressed as myself and a woman was watching me walk around in 3" heels. She asked me how I'd learned to walk so well. I was momentarily flustered and said that it just came natural.:o

I like to leave the door open and my left foot on the ground as well while I am attempting to get my car started in the morning or wherever. Additionally, helps me get more leverage on that pedal while the engine is turning over. Like your post.

Karren - I agree-you are a hoot! As for heels, for some reason I have never struggled with them. Perhaps its because I'm a late bloomer - never wore them until I was 60 and started with 2 inchers. Now I am fine in 4 inch shoes and frankly my tired knees feel better after a night in pantyhose and heels than in man shoes. Go figure
