As most of you know I've been going to the gym everymorning. As a result, there has been a decent amount of weight loss, coupled with the idea of using makeup each day, there have been some great changes in my looks, (yeah you should have seen me before this, :thumbsdn: Not good at all.
I use a shear foundation that gives just a bit of color to me and clear mascara, along with a lipstick from L'Oreal that matches my exact color, so it's hardly noticeble to anybody.
Now, Ive been doing this for about 4 months and everybody I meet who knows me has commented that I look much better and that "going to the gym" seems to make me look younger, and more healthy. (little do they know)
Anyhow the point here is: Last evening I went to my grandsons soccer game. Not having loads of time to "put on a fresh face" I jumped into the shower to wash off the dirt of the day, and just put on a "T" shirt, a pair of track pants and some sneakers. I saw one of the Mothers from last years team, and while talking and catching up on things that have happened over the last year, she asked me if I had lost weight. I told her that in fact I had lost about 40 pounds. Her next question just floored me.
"That's a healthy loss? Are you doing O.K.?"
She's worried that I'm healthy. Everybody else has said I look "hot". So, ...I must have looked ghastly without makeup. The lesson here ladies, is....Makeup, never leave home without it.

Actually Phyliss, different people react differently to weight loss. Especially if there is a significant weight loss when it doesn't seem that long ago they last saw you.

Sometimes a significant weight loss is due to illness and she may have just been worried about your health.

I think if it was the lack of makeup, she'd have mentioned how pale you looked instead of commenting on the weight loss.

Congratulations on the loss!

Dear phyliss,

I too have noticed different reactions to my weight loss. Since I don't wear makeup in guy mode, I can't attribute it to lack of makeup.

Some people say I look great, some people say I look sick (not true, I have eyes and I know I don't). I think some are jealous. 40 pounds is an acomplishment. It takes constant effort though. Whew!

Lovies,
Steph

Thanks for the comments. I mentioned this (less the lack of makeup) to a buddy at the grm this morning and he kinda noted that it was a bit ironic that here I am busting my hump to feel and look better and somebody thinks I'm sick. It is kinda funny in a way. The more I though about her comment the more I realized that she's one of those "caring persons" always worried about somebody else and how they're doing, and how they're coping and how they're, etc, etc. So, looking at it that light I suppose her comment about, is my weight loss a healthy loss, isn't out of line for her.

In my opinion, good sleep, good food and exercise will do as much - if not more - than any amount of makeup.

Lost 40 pounds? Wow!
