View Full Version : gender identity tests-Do they mean anything?

Being the curious one by nature I try personality tests when I happen to find them. Two years ago I took the gender identity test with the results saying that I was 51% feminine. Took the same test recently and found that I am now 73% feminine. How far will I progress? Since we all have two sides to our personalities, when does one reach their ideal personality gender ratio?

ok you might get a test to say you'r 51% ... then retest in a while and get a 73% ... now the more of them you take the better you get at giveing the "RIGHT" answers......

i did one once , got 93% but some of the questions are silly.
do you sleep on your chest or your back?
wich i can translate to...
Do you have breasts or not?
and further into..
are your male or female?
if you think about each question you should be able to get wichever result you so desire.

"Caitlin, you're 5% masculine". I don't put a whole lot of value into online tests.

For amusment reasons only. Not science. No predictive value. Silly. Counterproductive.

I'm assuming you're asking which spoke of this colorful umbrella is yours. You already are what you are, whatever that turns out to be. That's what's guiding you on your journey. It's your perception of who and what you are that's changing.
I assume you reach your ideal personality gender ratio when you feel the mix is just right. Personally, I think we tend to bounce around a particular mixture. I know it works that way for my emotional state, and it feels like the same is true for my gender.

These tests are in general just for fun
There was a TV program when they asked people these questions
It was found that most people had both male and female characteristics
Depending on if it was compassion or something else

I'm a Libra, so when I read my stars for the day.... something along the lines of.... you are going to meet someone new today that will change your life forever.... HELLO..... tis silly ;)

I took several of those tests---I thought I might be mostly fem as I DO CD, at least i thought I would be on the FEM end of the masculine scale.
But alas, virtually ALL of the tests I have taken stick me right in the MIDDLE of the "masculine" zones.---I could even expect a high masculine due to possible unconcious "overcompensation" (I try to answer the questions honestly)-- but no, right in the middle.
Perhaps its because I am an 'escapist' Cder----not CDing to go to a 'fem side", but rather to escape my MALE side--"to get away from me" so to speak--and relax from stresses.
I wonder if other "escapist" CDers also score in the mid masculine areas.
I can understand why "fem sider" CDs may rate in the feminine.--its common sense. But may a masculine score for a CDer serve as an indicator for escapist CDing?---It might be a easy way to "classify ones' self in the CD pantheon without going through years of confusing self questioning, before working out why one CDs

I took one once, over a year ago, when someone here pointed it out. I forget the actual score, but I wanna say my gender dysphoria was pretty high, high enough to call me transgendered or a very active cross dresser, but not enough to make me a serious TS or candidate for any permanant physical changes. I thought that was fairly accurate, and the test sure didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. If you are fairly sure what you are and feel you're happy with that, I suppose ya could take it for fun or curiousity. If, on the other hand, you are unhappy, depressed or seriously confused, your'e not gonna learn much there and it sure won't be fun. See a proffessional.

I took a gender test months ago. I graded out as slightly androgyne. How accurate these tests are is anyone's guess. There's no hard science to back up these tests as valid. At best, these tests can be an exercise and futility.

I believe the test are of some value and can provide a little insight into how you think as a person providing you don't "lead" the test, trying to achieve the results your "looking" for.
When the results state that you are in serious need of counseling and perhaps hormone treatments, well, that's going a little over the edge.
If you really believe your in need of counseling, that's different.

With out seeing one of these I do ask; are they gender identity or sexual preference test?
I've just run through one, and it had little to do with sexual preference. For example it asked about how easily you can locate sounds, how well you can recognize voices, what kind of school test you would prefer to take.
And most of them are based upon linear thought lines, while sexual orientaion and gender orientation are much more multi-dimesional. With them, think bi-polar logic, either something is good or bad, white or black, straight or curve. This is the most primitive form of logic. Either a thing is "yes" or "no" It doesn't allow for any "gray" nor deviations from the norms ~ which is statistically and mathematically impossible. (That is to say mathematically ~ it is "normal" to expect and anticipate deviations from the norm!)
This is one of the primary problems in being transgendered in "normal" society. "Normal" society isn't very well read, nor very well educated, and tends to lean toward bi-polar logic. And, tends to believe in "absolutes" when in actuality its more like a Rubic's Cube, with an almost infiinite combination of sexual orientation and gender idenity. (Its actually finite ~ due to the number of possible permutations ~ combinations)

Just ask yourself this question...how serious of a test do you think it can be when it's on a site called "tickle"? The tests are worthless, they are a game with as much value as a Chinese fortune cookie.

I took a gender test months ago. I graded out as slightly androgyne.
I just ran through one that placed me as androgyne. Score -120 with androgyne being classed from -130 to +129 I think it was. I guess that could be said to be "slightly".
In the context of the test, "androgyne" could indicate that gender is not important to the person, or it could indicate that the person has noticable expressions of both masculine and feminine.
Myself, I know that I seldom worried about being perceived as "masculine" -- I acted as I felt right, and never thought about being deliberately feminine. If something I'd bought from Mens' or from a festival booth was outside the norm, I'd wear it anyhow: it wasn't a challenge to my masculinity. But in the last 2 years or so, I've started to want to dress distinctly femininely at times, which is a noticable change from before.
