i've been noticing on sites like community webshots, flicker and
photo bucket how much cding there is.it seems that so many of
the younger gg's really enjoy dressing up there boyfriends or brothers.
i find it interesting that they go all the way with it.shaving their
legs, plucking their eyebrows and manicuring their nails.what i was wonder-
ing,is this a generational thing?

The 'net has helped a lot of girls get out - and, with the communication and community, a good bolt of boldness have touched and enriched many lives. It's really great.

Plus times have changed, cultural attitudes have changed, there are more places to go that are above ground, lots of stuff. I love to see the 20 year olds out and about, gives me hope for the future, which is more than I get reading the news.

I do think that because CDing, Gays, Lesbians etc are getting out and about more, the youngsters are being more exposed to minority groups and people who are different. It is slowly becoming more socially acceptable to be different. For years now it has been hip for a woman to have a Gay best friend and I can see in the not so distant future it being so to have a CDer in the family or social circle. Sorry if that makes you all sound like a fashion accessory, but lots of my friends think its cool because I mix with the Drag queens doing their makeup for them. They think it even cooler because I dont bat an eyelid when socialising with them. I dont tell them about my CD friends because I value confidentiality, but the drag queen scene is different again. Theyre already in the public eye and dont give a toss who knows what theyre up to.
Take care

I'm not sure that all the guys who get dressed by gfs or sisters are really CDers. Obviously they are curious I suppose, but quite often the instigation seems to come from the girls rather than the guys. They seem more enthusiastic about opposite gender days at school, womanless beauty contests and things like that as well. Maybe some form of rebellion against the still implicit stuff in our cultures that the female role is inferior??

What motivates all this? I'm sure I dunno, any GG views would be very interesting, but I doubt if it should immediately be taken as a sign on its own that CDing is becoming more accepted.

I'm not sure it's generational either, so much as age based, because it seems to be more prevalent with preteens, teens and twenties than any other age group. When I was that young, I managed to get girls to threaten, promise, or suggest dressing me without a lot of difficulty. Once I hit thirty it became a lot harder - now it never happens.

Interesting issue though!

Hi Karen, Don't know if it's generational or not, but it sure is an "Ericka" thing. Ericka
