I took a shopping trip into Battle Creek to the Meijers there. I wanted to shop as Lacey for once so I drove there in my new jeans, a long sleeved white and pink striped blouse and my white keds. I had my shoulder length auburn/brown wig on also. Full make up. Any hoo, I was shaking like a leaf when I walked in and the lady greeter was very nice to me. I got a few looks from men and women as I made my way back to the purses. I chose a black purse with a handle and shoulder strap. A woman came into the aisle as I was coming out and she looked shocked then said " Hello...Miss". We both giggled and I walked up to the check out lane. A man cut me off, then apologized and let me in front of him. The girl working the counter was very nice and I left feeling very satisfied. I ended up being in the store for 45 minutes. A new personal record for Lacey in a store. Then I wasn't nervous anymore so I stopped at Subway and went in. The two teenaged girls behind the counter were very nice and asked good guestions. Like do you want to be a woman , do you live like this . They were very sweet and called me Lacey as I left. I told them my femm name. I drove home feeling like a true woman. No one said any thing negative and it was no big deal. I know there's still the mean spirited people out there but I haven't met them yet. Thankfully.LOL. Huggs, Lacey.:D

Just a word of warning, mean people are out there. You'll probably encounter one eventually. I think you've experienced what I have in regards to what I call, "not everyone hates us".

Lacey, it sounds like you're in Michigan too. I'm in GR. Just watch out for the teen girls. They are the curse of the CD'er. They can spot us and are not grown up enough to let us alone. So just remember all the good times you've had, so when you meet the terror of the teens, you will have some good memories too.
I watch people, women , in Meijers stores. What is a better slice of the population. We all have to eat. And I usually dress as if I was going to Meijers.
I had a funny thing happen today, A teeny booper asked me if I wanted to go to Avenue and get it on, in the changing booth. She about dropped something, when I told her, my wife worked there. I wish I would have had my camera ther and ready, the look on her face was priceless...BJ

Yes, Billijo, I'm In Jackson. But I lived in Battle Creek for five years so I know my way around. I've been lucky enough with the teenie boppers so far. I try to interact with women when ever possible because they don't seem as judgemental when they see a man dressed as a woman. The guys I've interacted with don't say much either. I'm normally bigger than them.LOL. No guy wants his @$$ handed to him by a man in keds and pink lipstick.
thanks, Lacey!:heehee:

Sounds like a comfortable, affirming experience.

... just remember, you don't have to field personal questions from strangers if you don't want to.

I know I don't have to they were asking pretty decent questions so I didn't mind. It was just girl talk. LOL. Lacey.:heehee:

Yes it was a very scary time at first but I grew less nervous as people looked at me and continued with their own shopping. And the women I dealt with at the registers at Meijers and Subway were very friendly and professional for teenagers. it was very nice. Thanks, Lacey.:D

Sounds like your similar to me in the aspect that it hard to start something with a a chick that could play middle linebacker. I don't try to fool anyone i just have fun and enjoy the adrenaline. Still have to be aware of your surroundings. Be careful.

Wow Lacey what a nice experiance. I have a friend that does crossdressing outreach at a local humanities class. She said the questions in the classroom are inteligent and she is well respected. However once the bell rings the estrogen takes hold of them and she is usualy escorted from the property.

I have been out and about for nearly 20 years on occasion and have found that a woman secure in her own femininity is accepting and even encouraging. I heard one woman telling another in a ladies room "I think it is so flattering that a man would want to emulate a woman honey, ..." She did not know I had returned to the stall.

Each time you go out you will gain confidence and then some 18 year old will try to crush you. The facts of dressing.. Well got to do it. Tiffany

Thanks, Korinda. I never mess with people it is just the impression I get when men look at me as Lacey. I am pretty broad in the shoulders so I too know I'm not fooling anyone. And trust me I'm always VERY aware of all my surroundings. Thanks, Lacey.:D

Yes it is fun. It was very unnerving going into the store the first time but once I was inside and no really cared I was there I had fun. Huggs, Lacey.:heehee:

Well, Tiffany , luckily I've only had a few dirty looks and occasional comment but I have developed the confidence in myself. The other night was a break thru for me . I just didn't realize how paranoid I really was. And when most people looked at me most of them didn't do a double take. It was refreshing. And thanks for the insite from your experiences. Hugs, Lacey.:D
