Those who chat with me a lot know I have been thinking about getting a set of pink and white permanent French gel nails

Well, the appointment has been all set up now! By Tuesday at noon I should have 10 nice pretty Fench nails. The bad side is that these puppies are permanent! Gels cannot be removed except by filing them down, so I will be absolutely stuck with these for a few days. I have a follow-up appointment for a few days later to get them removed. I figured this would be a golden time since I am off work until January 3.

I just hope I don't chicken out. I mean, I have been getting around in just the gels for the last few months - my nails have been longer than male length plus the gels are very shiny. But now, they will have very white tips with no easy way to get rid of it in case something comes up.....

So - wish me luck!

That'll be wonderful Dana, but if I were you, I'd leave the gels on until January 2! :)

Hi Dana,
Well being a nail grrly meself have loved your pics of your nicely manicured nails. The way you describe they are doing the french is not the only way it can be done. There are many ways to do them. For me, I have plain clear gel; however, before they put the last coat on they airbrush a white tip and then another thin layer of gel. Works fabulously! Would highly suggest. Anyhow, best of luck!

Hey Kew - yes, you are right there are several ways to do a French. My nail tech doesn't do airbrush, so she did my pinkie last time with a white gel tip, I have a pic if you want to see?

Either way, I will go back in a few days and she will file off the white gel that will be an overlay over the gels I keep on all the time anyway. And then I will need to get all my nails filed down a bit for Xmas dinner with the family :(

Kew, I forgot to mantion, my nail tech has just learned a brand new technique - they are called acryli-gels, they combine both processes and give a great shine and application ease of a gel with the added strength of acrylics.

She has all those other gels with the sparkles and irridecent gels too, but I don't have the guts to try those :)

I would just love to be able to spend a whole week as a girl. The times I have been able to dress for 2 or 3 days the feeling of being feminine really settled in.
