Hi
I don't know for sure, but I bet it's a 'no' due to the fact it is a family oriented store, be nice if they said 'yes' tho wouldn't it? they do have some very nice clothes,

I have gone into Wal Mart as a male several times & asked to try things on,jeans, a nightee with a robe & it was no problem. I don't know maybe just the time you are there(busiest time of the day) that may have been bad, i don't know. For me it was no trouble.
Take care dear.

Hi,
I have not had a problem at Wal-Mart. I have tried on (and bought) lots of women’s clothes there. They just want to know how many items you have; I think there is supposed to be a limit. They have a men’s side and a women’s side. I have not gone in cross dressed, so have only used the men’s side, but it can’t be any different from the women’s. They usually have women attendants, but, occasionally a man is there. One lady who was there almost all of the time has moved to greeter, we have talked about cross dressing, though, not me specifically. That’s a whole other story of why and why not.

Wal- Mart does have TG policies and we are allowed to try things on. I have several friends who are employees and they told me this. And they said they have to let us try things on. I only know what I am told.

I have found in drab I use the men's changing rooms in all stores without a problem, Kohl's, Sears, Macy's while dressed enfem were fine. Lane Bryant was incredibly helpful finding me a time when dressing rooms were empty for my and customers comfort, even got a different size and another in a different style, and they made 2 sales instead of 1.

The Wally World where I live has a single set of dressing rooms and an attendant, and she has never not allowed me to take in stuff from the women's department.

I was having a hard time with my first pair of jeans. (only one pair as I prefur dresses and skirts,) So many stles and different cuts. Lo rise High rise boot cut etc, I took an arm full in as a guy and all she cared about was the count. My favorite place in the country has to be the Vanity Fair outlet in Livingston Tx. Acres of lingeree and womens clothing and self service un-attended dressing rooms. WAY COOL Tiffany

I think it is STUPID for a male to walk into a womans department and think they can use there dressing room dress as male..another black eye for crossdressers. What's wrong with the mens dressing room ?

I'm thinking what if some lady or young girl were to bump into a male while dressing & how she would react "scream" does anyone care about them or just yourself

Now if you are dressed female then you shouldn't have a problem.

Just my thoughts

My experience at WalMart is that when dressed as a male, you can try on anything in the Men's dressing room. The attendant NEVER looks at the label, just counts the number of items and really does not seemed too interested in what you have. Have never tried shopping there en fem but have bought lots of women's clothes and tried them on when dressed en drab.

If you look like a girl, they'll let you in the girl's room ;) No problem ;P

Matty,

I do this and I'm not "stupid".

You don't use the same dressing room with women together! I'm not going to bump into a young girl in the changing room, "scream".

I take the clothes in, try them on, and then come back out. Simple and easy.

Perhaps changing rooms are different in the stores where you shop but here in New England we don't use dressing or changing rooms together with other people.

Dressing rooms normally have several seperate small enclosed areas. Usually with a curtain covering the front, which when pulled across the entrance, other ladies will assume someone else is in there (I normally leave it open when finished to let others know the room is available).

Best thing to do would be to ask a sales assistant whether you could try the clothes on. If you are in the womens department, the nearest dressing rooms would be the womens. If she says that you can use the dressing rooms (perhaps by pointing specifically to the womens area), then no problem should arise.

I mention this whether you are in drag or drab.

Well, DUH!

You have to use a certain amount of what we generally call "common sense".

If you come out into the common area (usually open to the store) half naked, someone (anyone) may see you. Male or female. Keep the curtain (or door) closed when you are naked (or half dressed). Many stores have individual rooms with no common area.

Last week I came out into the common area with new jeans on to ask a woman standing there if my jeans were long enough (no), but I would not come out without pants on. (why?).

I am well aware of the layout of changing rooms every where. I have been using them for 50+ years. I was just reacting to the acusation that I was "STUPID". That I took offense to.

Watch out! Lot's of dressing rooms have hidden cameras. I know a few sporting goods stores have them. I went in one to try on some male swimwear, and saw a bunch of girls clothes in there. Thought I died and went to heaven. I was holding a nice white dress up to see how it would look and I noticed the camera hidden in the venilation louvers.

As long as you pay for them before leaving the store, you will be fine!!

Maybe they were deliberately put there to detect possible theft?

Cameras in dressing rooms are illegal and imoral. They are NOT there to deter theft. They are there because some pervert put them there. If you notice a camera in a dressing room you should call the police. It is illegal to photograph someone when they are in a situation where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Perhaps if there was a sign saying you were being photographed, . . .No, that wouldn't work, then no one would use that dressing room.

Call the cops, there's a pervert on the loose. These pictures often end up on the internet. People pay well for pictures like these.

I've carried femme things in under man things. That changing room did not have an attendant. Once I took a dress to the attendant at another Walmart and she let me in to try it on. On my second dress, I asked if she would mind giving me an opinion. She said sure. I opened the door where she could see me and we talked for 5-10 minutes. One other clerk walked by and saw me. I was standing in walmart in a dress, hose, and keds!

Wal-Mart has to let you try on what you want. It IS their policy. I know, I work there.

If anyone has a problem with their Wal-Mart all you do is just call the store and they will bend over backwards to help you. We have a meeting everyday for each shift and it will be brought up. The managers will inform the associates on how to handle it. The company will not put up with any discrimination what so ever!

The first policy there is "the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT*"

*even if we know they are wrong.

Never had a problem using changing rooms, use the one for whichever mode you're in. Was dressed in jeans and t shirt one time, own collar length hair, no make up, and used the gents changing room. After trying on the clothing Sandra said that after I had gone in, she was approached by a woman and she asked if Sandra knew I had gone into the wrong changing room.

I have even gone into a store specialising in female clothing and asked to be measured properly for a bra. The assistant didn't bat an eyelid, and I found out that I had been wearing the wrong size.

If you are dressed as a male, then use the male dressing rooms. If you want to try on female clothes in the womens dressing rooms & your dressing as a male, well thats just a lawsuit waiting to happen. MArk my words, it will happen.

Stay away from womens dressing rooms dumbass! You can try on all the female clothes you want, just in the male dressing room!

As i understand it (but never put it to the test) in the UK, The policy is that you can use the women's changing rooms only if you are dressed 'en femme' while shopping, otherwise you have to use the men's.

How they would be if you went in as male and wanted to try on female underwear, I do not know.

I have been in several Wal-Marts dressed femme, tried on clothes in the ladies dressing area and have had no problems at all.

Last fall, i was femme in a Wal-mart when i was on vacation.
Found a skirt i wanted to try on, and got into the line for the dressing room. There was one attendent for both dressing rooms, and in fact the person in front of me was male.
When my turn came, the lady attendent, who was directing people to the right area, immediately, said that room # was available, and it was in the womens dressing room area.
It made me feel so good to be treated as a lady when out as a lady
