I had question about cd'ing. It looks like I may be going back to school, and am wondering how well wearing womens clothes will go over. I'm not talking about high heels, wigs, or anything like that. I was thinking perhaps it would be best to dress from the start, as people won't have a pre-formed opinion or idea about me. Lately I've been feeling like I can't take another day of wearing guy clothes. No really, the I can't take it anymore feeling.

Thanks

Hi I would want to know more before giving advice like how old are you

As people of different ages may be more accepting

Early 30's, though most guess my age to 20 - 25. :)

It depends on what you mean and how far you want to go with it. Are you talking about wearing a dress to class? That probably wouldn't fly over very well, but I've never tried it, so who knows?

On the other hand, you can most certainly wear casual women's clothes anywhere and not get noticed. Before I went full time I got rid of all my guy clothes and wore nothing but women's jeans and tops, you really couldn't tell the difference. Even casual shoes such as tennies, they look the same, and I never had any problems.

You're old enough, Hon. Wear what makes you comfortable. School is tough enough without having to worry about fashion. Ericka

I do confess to having a denim skirt I love. My wife has nice hawaiian sarongs as well.

Of course I'd have to consider every quarter it would almost be like starting all over again.

I would buy some of those very cute school uniforms that girls do wear they are so cute and just perhaps noone will really care if and when you do wear them right.

I sure would like to dressup in those the styles are really great.

Of all of the places, I truly believe that college can be one of the more accepting, but also one of the more unaccepting and judgemental. The bottom line here is you are who you are. You said it just right. Don't allow any misguided opinions be formed. Wear what you are comfortable in. I totally know what you mean when you say that you can't stand another day of boy clothes. I am getting there too.... Be who you are, wear what you want to wear, go to school and learn...... love ya sis....

College is a WONDERFUL place to transition. They almost always have strong anti descimination policies. They tend to be more liberal than mainstream USA. Most college age kids won't care. The school uniform will be jeans and Ts so it will be easy to dress in feminine versions without feeling like you stand out too much. This is a golden oportunity. Go for it. From the start! Most will either accept what you are doing or assume you are gay. You will have a great time. Four years to aclimate. They will even have a Speech/ Launguage Pathology Department where you can get help with your voice. I am sooooo jealous.

One thing to remember, is something that I have notice here in Ithaca. If you wear femme clothes, but no bra, makeup, wigs you will most likely will be pointed out as being "Gay". Be prepared for that.
BTW Ithaca, NY is home to Ithaca College and Cornell University so I see every possible way the people dress

Hiya "Noname"

From my experience it's not so much what you wear, it's more being confident with what you do decide to wear... dressing your age is a famous saying, but women feel free to wear exactly what they want and whenever they want to wear it lol, as if a women will have comments in what she wears after all she's a woman wearing womens clothes, as if theres a problem with it.... the bottom line is that so long as it's actually not offensive by itself. If you wear a flimsy skirt or dress on an unsuitable day, so what !!! lol loads of women do.... thats a discussion maybe for another day!!!! but right here and now a woman can ideally wear whatever she wants, and whatever her age is really doesn't matter, so long as she feels good to be wearing it.... I am not into ageism myself... whatever age you are and so long as you feel happy wearing it, along with the bagloads of confidence you might require if it gets a bit daring lol, go with the flow and simply enjoy feeling free and with being a confident and happy self...
