Red is the color of joy + luck in Chinese culture. Its funny to see a Chinese wedding party in traditional wedding outfits getting their pix taken in a public place here. All that red. White is the color of death. So many with traditional outlooks avoid it like the plague, besides the white wedding dress deal goes back only as far as Queen Victoria, who was married in one, so everyone had to after that. Some 1840s trendy deal. At any rate, wait till your kids see the Chinese New Years Parade in SF, its mind-blowing, and tons of red.

love those gowns, used to own one for a short while, but I picked the wrong size by mistake and was never able to try it on properly

ahh well, someday will get a replacment *grins*
